Message from the principal
I hope everyone enjoyed a wonderful summer with friends and family. We are looking forward to another extraordinary year here at MEA! Teachers and staff have been working hard in preparation for the 2019-2020 school year and are as excited as ever to work in partnership with you. Thank you for entrusting us with your child's education and for embracing "Doing School Differently."
If you are a returning family, please welcome our new students and families by saying hello. We hope you will become involved in our school community through volunteer opportunities, SSC, the newly created MEA Foundation, extracurriculars, and other school events.
My door is always open, so please do not hesitate to contact me with questions or suggestions. Here's to a great year!
Courtney Browne
MEA Principal
Study Group Schedule
The 2019-2020 secondary study group schedule can be found here on the school website.
Classes not on the schedule
If students are in a class that does not have a studygroup meeting, they must arrange to meet with the teacher of that class during lunch or another time the first week of school to review course expectations.
Scheduling Conflicts
If your student has two classes that meet at the same time, unfortunately a change to the studygroup schedule is highly unlikely at this time. The best thing to do is contact Mr. Zappala for a course schedule change for your student.
Student & Parent Orientation Sessions
5th grade orientation is Wed. 8/28 from 9-10am in Room 10
6th and 7th grade parents are required to shadow their student the first week to gather all needed information for specific content areas.
New 8th grade parents are required to attend math class with their child the first week. Shadowing all day is optional for 8th grade parents.
Welcome new students!
New Mt. Everest Academy students in grades 8-12 attended an orientation today to learn about our independent study process. ASB students helped by leading the new students on a photo scavenger hunt and sharing their experiences at MEA!
