A Note from our Principal
Dear Parents,
I can’t believe that I am writing the last newsletter for the school year! May is going to be full of important events. Please make note of these special times. If you are attending any of the end of year awards, please make sure you are there promptly at the designated time. These activities do not take very long and I have had parents upset in the past because they missed seeing their child.
I have enjoyed working with each and every student this school year. They each hold a special place in my heart. I will miss my first graders as they move over to a new campus. They will be visiting the Dyer campus at 9:00 a.m. on May 15. We will bus them over there and help them get acquainted with the building and the teachers.
Please remember that we begin school at 7:45. The tardy bell rings at 7:55. If your child is tardy or signed out 4 or more times for the year, they are no longer eligible for perfect attendance. Being tardy and signed out early counts as “part of a day.” You can find this on pages 20-23 of the Student Handbook.
I know the last weeks of school are going to fly by. Please read all notes that come home as we will be relaying a lot of important information. Please remember to appreciate your child’s teacher the week of May 1-5 (or anytime). These teachers work extremely hard for your children. They go above and beyond my highest expectations. A kind word or a nice email would mean a lot to them!
Thank you!

Mrs. Masterson's Moments in Music
Parents and Friends,
Thank you so much for an amazing kindergarten performance we had on April 18th! I couldn't have been prouder of your kids! Thank you to all the parents for allowing me to teach your children this year, and share my love and passion for music with them. We have had a great year in music class at the EEC and I'm looking forward to next year and all the great things it holds! Have a great summer, and see you next fall!
Love,
Mrs. Masterson

Keep Your Child Hydrated
Hydration is vital to our overall health and well-being. In addition to helping the body function properly, water helps regulate body temperature and flush out waste. Please put a reusable water bottle in your child's backpack each day.
Please send a change of clothes
Should I keep my child home?
FEVER—check your child’s temperature with a thermometer. If a temperature of 100.0 degrees or more is present, please do not send your child to school. It does not help your child's health to give medication for fever and send them to school, nor does it take care of the illness that is causing the fever. Coming to school sick (possibly contagious) not only exposes other children to the illness, but also delays your child’s healing time. Children must be fever-free without the assistance of medicine before returning to school. Attendance and punctuality are so important but, staying home to recover from illness is a greater need. Stay healthy!
