Winter is a great time to fulfill your community service hours, and many organizations are looking for volunteers to help complete service projects. Martin Luther King, Jr. Holiday is also known as a "Day of Service" so many organizations are also looking for volunteers to complete projects. Contact non-profit organizations now to join them during their holiday events and projects. Winter break is also a great time to finish your community service hours.

Sophomore Timelines
As a Sophomore, using a timeline can assist you in making sure you are on track to successfully finish high school, apply for college, and attend college. Below are links to great timelines for success and other resources to help you prepare for Junior year.
A Quick Reminder: High School Program requirements
- Attend one academy, hosted in Fall 2017
- Complete at least two hours of community service by March 9, 2018 (five hours is recommended for high school students)
- Speak with four admissions reps at a college fair (this can also be completed by visiting four college campuses as a junior or senior)
- Do not receive out-of-school suspension
- Continue to participate in It’s My Call/It’s Our Call random drug screening program
- Remain enrolled in a Forsyth County public school and graduate from a Forsyth County public school
- Fulfill the terms of the Partnership Agreement
Sophomore year is the last year for students to enroll in the Program, so make sure you are always aware of program requirements and deadlines. If you are dismissed, you will be ineligible to reapply to the Program next year.
