SECOND GRADE
Second Grade has been working hard in December across the curriculum. Students have been using Google Docs for a “Melting Snowman” narrative and traditional pen and paper for a holiday narrative. They also have been working on a parent holiday gift, coding on their chromebooks and mastering new concepts in math. We are excited in the new year to become Agricultural Engineers, Geographers and to Skype with a mathematician!
They are beginning to learn cursive writing as well!
THIRD GRADE
This month in social studies third grade students utilized the new Studies Weekly publications to enhance their knowledge of the basic components of social studies. They identified the characteristics of maps and described how climate affects vegetation and animal life. In mathematics, students are exploring the concept of multiplication by representing facts through skip counting, arrays, and equal groups.
On December 20th, third graders will participate in a “Coffee Talk.” Students will enjoy hot chocolate and doughnuts while analyzing the poem, ‘Twas the Night before Christmas.
BUDDY CLASSES
Mrs. Wendling's first grade gathered with their fourth grade buddies in Mrs. McHugh's class to share their gingerbread glyphs. The fourth grade "read" to learn a little more about their buddy and shared a glyph of their own.

TITLE 1
Dear Parents and Guardians,
The Neshaminy School District is committed to providing our students with the best education possible. The elementary school your child(ren) currently attends receives Title I federal funding. Title I provides funding to districts for improving the Academic Achievement of students that have disadvantages. This funding allows our district to provide supplementary reading and or math support. Title I requires that schools seek parent input as well as provide parent and family engagement activities. We would like your input in developing, for each school, parent and family engagement activities that promote student learning and that, strengthen home-school connections.
If you have not already completed the survey, please help us plan by taking a few minutes to answer the 10 item survey using the below link. This information will be used to help us develop parent and family engagement activities throughout the school year.
