EAGLE EXPRESS
AUGUST 5, 2022
Eagle Academy encourages academic excellence by integrating proven instructional methods with a challenging curriculum and high expectations. This combination provides every child with the foundation needed to achieve proficiency of Eagle Academy’s performance standards at each instructional level.
Greetings Eagle Academy,
Welcome to the 2022-23 school year. This is the first installment of the Eagle Express, Eagle Academy Charter Schools weekly online newsletter for this year.
Whether you are returning or new to Eagle Academy, I am so glad that you are a part of our school community. Hopefully this communication finds you and your family well rested and as pumped-up as I am about school starting in a few weeks.
Many of you have been anxiously awaiting news of what the beginning of school will be like at Eagle Academy. The teachers, staff and I are excited at the opportunities this year presents for our school and community to come together and rise above, just as we have done these past couple of years.
Please continue to do your daily health screening before departing for school in the morning. As always, daily attendance is very important, however we understand that illnesses occur. If your student is feeling ill and will not be attending school, please contact the front office or nurse Jan at (907) 742-3025.
Below is information related to a few events leading up to the start and the first few days of school. Our amazing team of teachers and staff can hardly wait to meet your little ones.
See you all very soon,
Deanne Carroll - Principal

DISTRICT REQUIREMENT
Eagle Academy Charter School aspires to be a welcoming place where parents and other community stakeholders are active participants in helping inspire excellence in learning by all of our students! With your help (16 hrs. of school service), our students have been able to make great gains in academic achievement.
In light of recent events and trends across the country, the Anchorage School District will be requiring a background check for those volunteering with and around students.
Moving forward, all individuals volunteering at Eagle Academy (including chaperones, drivers, and partner organizations) must complete a volunteer application and sign a liability waiver each school year. The application and waiver can be found on the website for online submission or printing.
Filling out the online application takes just 1-3 minutes. Please take a few minutes to fill out the form sooner rather than later. The verification process takes between 7-14 days. Completing the form now assures that your application will be done in time for the start of school on August 18th.
While this added step might seem like an inconvenience, I want to encourage you view this addition to our safety and security protocols as a great return on your investment to keep all of our students safe. This will allow our staff to focus on the important task of providing a world class education.
Should you have any questions related to volunteering with ASD, please contact the office of Equity and Compliance via Email: EEO_Dept@asdk12.org or phone: 907-742-3995.
