What is Flipgrid?- #15
Flipgrid is a video discussion platform that allows teachers to create grids (your classroom or group) and encourages creativity and discussions through recordings, uploading videos, uploading images, attaching files, and attaching websites. Students are able to react and respond to each other's short videos. Flipgrid gives student's voice power and encourages collaborative community.
Free Version
- iPad Version- Flipgrid is available for free on the apple store for iOS devices.
- Web Version (Chromebooks or Windows)- Flipgrid One is free for everyone. It comes with 1 grid, unlimited topics, unlimited student response videos (15-sec or 90-sec), simple individual student feedback, private video sharing with families, and Microsoft and Canvas integrations. It is free for iPhone, iPad, and Android apps.
What Can This Be Used For?
- Have students reflect on a previous lesson taught by creating different discussions
- Have your Literature Circles discuss different topics within their group.
- Use it as an Exit Ticket posing the question "What Did You Learn Today"
- Use it for a Wax Museum Project and have your students record their video and upload different types of information about their historical figure.
- Use Flipgrid for groups discussions instead of FSGPT (Fundamental 5).
- Have students watch a video about a news event and have a discussion about it.
