Slight Change
Starting today, January 30th we will be temporarily implementing an alternate afternoon pick up procedure due some safety concerns. In all the excitement at the end of the day, students have been a little distracted and inattentive.
Students will remain in their classrooms and be released by teachers when their parents pull up to the front of the building. This is similar to the procedure we used during COVID.
Please help us by having your yellow/goldenrod name placard in your vehicle's front passenger window. Staff members will be using two-way radios to call in to classrooms. Classroom teachers will release students so they are ready as you pull up to the front of the building.
For parents/guardians who park and walk up to the pick up area to meet your student, it would also be helpful if you have your student's yellow/goldenrod name placard.
Thank you so much for your patience and support. We hope to have everyone safely in their vehicles and on their way home expediently.
Sincerely,
Deanne Carroll ~ Principal
EACS's PLAN
Below is a summary of our plan:
- No change to our school day. Start and end times will remain the same.
- No parent/teacher conferences. Instead, 2/22 and 2/23 will be full instructional days.
- 2/24 be a half-day, early release day. Students will be released at noon (12:00 p.m.)
Remote Learning in case of future emergency closures:
Teachers are preparing packets of two-three days worth work (ELA, Math, Science or Social Studies) to send home in manila envelopes. These should not be opened until an official weather closure or as instructed by you student's classroom teacher.
- As aways, please monitor the local news, radio stations, district websites, and social media pages for announcements regarding emergency school closures due to weather.
- If school is closed due to weather, teachers will push out information via email or pre-determined mode of communication (class dojo, Google classroom, Remind App, etc.)
- Parents will be asked to respond to the communication to acknowledge they understand what the learning expectations will be for the day.
If you have any questions, please contact the front office at (907) 742-3025.
