Early Start for the 2017-18 School Year
The Tustin Unified School District has announced an earlier start date for all TK-12 students in the 2017- 18 school year. The first day of school next fall will be Tuesday, August 22, 2017, and the last day of instruction will be June 7, 2018. Parents will need to adjust vacation times and plan calendars to ensure students are ready for school mid-August. TUSD is moving to an earlier start date in order to give students more time to prepare for tests such as Advanced Placement (AP), Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) and other college-level tests; coordinate college applications; and ease high school seniors’ transition into colleges. Students will also be able to compete on equal footing with students back east who in the past had a greater number of instructional days before testing. New calendars can be found here.

Sports Medicine at Beckman
Sports Medicine (or Athletic Training) is in it's second year here at Beckman. Students now have access to three Sports Medicine Classes on campus: Sports Medicine ROP, KNES 85 (IVC) and KNES 215 (IVC). Students receive hands on experience and learn about sports specific injuries and rehabilitation/treatment techniques. Along with Biomedical Science and Human Body Systems, these classes are now part of our Applied Medical Pathway where students can earn a Pathway Completer cord at graduation. See your counselor for more information.
Revised Honor Roll Criteria
To better align our Honor Roll recognition with College expectations, we have modified the criteria for Honor Roll awards. Beginning Spring semester of 2017, we will no longer be using a weighted GPA, but rather an academic unweighted GPA to calculate Honor Roll eligibility. This plan was vetted with faculty members, teachers and parent groups.
