Glocester Scarecrow Festival
Saturday, October 15, 9 a.m., Main Street, Chepachet
This festival will run throughout the day and scarecrows will remain on display for two weeks.
The scarecrows will be returning to Main Street, Chepachet on October 15, the opening day of the festival. View all the creative scarecrows, listen to music, enjoy the food, paint a pumpkin, and visit the petting zoo and pony rides. There is plenty of time to design, create, and register your scarecrow for this fun event. Visit www.glocesterscarecrowfestival.org to register. This event is sponsored by the Chepachet Grange, the Glocester Libraries, the Rhode Island State Council for the Arts, the Glocester Business Association, and private donations from friends and businesses.

Harmony and Glocester Manton Libraries’ Craft Tables

Youth of all ages, discover the indoor craft table at both libraries for a fun Halloween themed craft! Each library is different, so be sure to visit both places.
Children’s Pick Up Crafts

Youth of all ages, stop by both the Glocester Manton and Harmony libraries to pick up a Halloween pickup craft! Each library craft is different, so be sure to visit both libraries! Note: Changes on the pickup craft are now made monthly, not weekly.
Find Pokémon Creature Hike
October 1 through October 31, during daylight hours
Special Location: Steere Hill Hiking Trails, 374 US-44, Chepachet
Age Level: All Ages
In this hike on the Steere Hill trails, you will search for the Pokémon creatures, hidden throughout the trail. Count the number of creatures that you find, and email that final total with your name and phone number to Jennifer.glocesterlibraries@outlook.com. At the end of the month, everyone’s name enters a raffle to win a Pokémon gift basket. Note: Please leave the Pokémon creatures where you find them.
Make a Haunted House
Monday, October 3, 5 p.m., Harmony Library
Age Level: Ages 6 and up
Join us to paint and decorate your own haunted house! Once completed and dried, it will be put in our display case by the front door for a spooky display! After Halloween, come by and pick up your haunted house to bring home.
DC League Animated Film

Age Level: Ages 5 and up
Movie night! Join us for the DC Comics Super-Pets movie, DC - League of Superpets. Snacks, drinks, and pizza will be provided. Bring something comfortable to sit on!
Hocus Pocus Bingo Night

Age Level: Ages 6 and up
Join us for a few rounds of bingo, a fun craft, and snacks. The winner of each round will receive a spooky prize.

Join Miss Kat in making a wooden Halloween sign! With paint, bones, and more, you can customize your own spooky piece of art.

Cookbook Club
Monday, October 3, 6 p.m., Harmony Library
Pie, sweet or savory, is the fitting fall theme for our October meeting! Participants will choose between two cookbooks by Cathy Barrow, Pie Squared OR When Pie Fly. This is how the club works: every month, pick up a copy of that month's cookbook selection at the Harmony Library. Choose a recipe to make and prepare it for the next month's meeting. We will sample each other's dishes and discuss our cooking experiences. If you would like to join the Cookbook Club, register at: www.glocesterlibraries.org and then drop by the library to pick up a copy of the book.
Tuesday Movie Matinee

Paranormal expert Tom D’Agostino will visit the Harmony Library for the first time to talk about legends and haunts of New England. Some of the highlights include Belcourt Castle, Tavern on Main, Bara-Hack, the John York House, and more! Come with your questions.
Fearless Art

The Fearless Art Club invites adults of all ages and artistic abilities to experiment with painting and drawing. We create a supportive atmosphere for people to come together, explore art, find their own artistic style, and be inspired and influenced by others.
Glocester Libraries Walking Club Super Walk
Wednesday, October 19, 8 a.m., Steere Hill Parking Lot on Putnam Pike (almost across from the Harmony Post Office)
With cooler temperatures, the Walking Club will hold its fall “Super Walk.” We will look at the seasonal changes on the trail since our last visit during full summer. The “Super Walk” will be a little longer than the usual Walking Club outing – approximately 5 miles and 2 to 2½ hours long.
Writers' Support Group

Find great peer support for your writing by joining the Writers’ Support Group! Read and share your personal writing projects at this monthly meeting. This adult group is open to writers in all genres. For more information, phone Pat Kenny, Reference and Technology Librarian, at 949-2850.
Acorn & Pine Cone Fall Wreath
Tuesday, October 25, 6 p.m., and Wednesday, October 26, 10:30 a.m., Harmony Library
Join us at the Harmony Library to learn how to make a beautiful fall-themed wreath with acorns and pine cones. All materials will be provided. Participants should register for only one session. Note: Registration will open for this program on Tuesday, October 4, 6 p.m.
