Clarke Middle and Hilsman Middle School Science & Energy Teams Headed to DC!
Clarke Middle and Hilsman Middle School Science & Energy Teams will collaborate and coordinate our participation in this year's in-person, face-to-face NEED Energy Conference & Youth Awards in Washington DC. This is a first for CCSD and our state!
The Hilsman Team won state and national level honors in 2020 and could not attend in-person due to COVID-related cancellation of the in-person event. The Clarke Middle Team has won state and national level honors for this school year. NEED has invited winning students and schools from 2020 to attend the in-person events this summer in Washington, DC. Congratulations, students, and teachers!
Caitlin Tucker, 4th Grade, Whitehead Road Elementary
"Ms. Tucker is a phenomenal teacher who genuinely loves and cares about scholars. She goes above and beyond to ensure learning happens no matter what. She is a team player who brings the right amount of passion and excitement to whatever task she is asked to complete. I call her 'sunshine,' in my building because she is always smiling and warms the spirits of those she encounters. While serving as a virtual teacher this year, Ms. Tucker refused to allow the pandemic to stop good teaching from happening. Our scholars are so blessed to have her as a teacher, and I am thankful she is a part of The Koala Nation!" ~ April Braswell, Principal
