Dress Code Updates for 2019-2020
As you know, we take the safety and security of our MSA family very seriously. As we increase and refine our security measures here at MSA, we find it important to change the policy regarding students wearing non-MSA clothing on our campus. Starting this upcoming 2019-2020 school year, all outerwear including but not limited to, jackets, sweaters, hoodies, etc. must be MSA apparel and be dress code compliant in order to be worn on campus, as well as on the walk and after school activities on school grounds. This safety precaution helps school staff & security easily recognize our students, but most importantly they can quickly spot intruders and any other individuals who do not belong. Beginning in July, our school store will be open to purchase your MSA apparel and we will also be offering some exciting new jacket options that will be available by pre-order only to help students be prepared as the weather gets cooler. Information regarding store hours of operation will be sent home soon! We appreciate your continued support as we make every effort to keep MSA a safe school for your students.
Uniforms
Whether you outgrew your uniform shirts or bottoms, or you have graduated or moved from Middle School to High School, we appreciate any uniforms that are donated to the school. Your generosity assists others greatly.
ATTENTION 6TH GRADE STUDENTS - SHOT UPDATES REQUIRED BEFORE STARTING 7TH GRADE
The State of Florida requires proof of immunization for all students entering 7th grade each year. This proof must be on the official State of Florida Immunization Form (DH680... the Blue Card) which is obtained from your doctor's office or the Health Department. The following immunizations must be documented on this form:
* Tetanus, Diphtheria, and acellular pertussis (Tdap) - This is the update shot that you need for 7th Grade.
* Hepatitis B vaccine series
* Varicella vaccine or the year of disease
* Two doses of MMR (measles, mumps, and rubella)
Please see your doctor or the Health Department for more information and to assure that your child has met these requirements. This documentation must be submitted to the school before the first day of school next year (August 12). Students will not be allowed to come to school until these shot requirements are met. Thank you for your prompt attention to this matter.
