THANKSGIVING WEEKEND
CANNED FOOD DRIVE ANNOUNCES A WINNER
Choir to participate in Tree Lighting Ceremony
DECEMBER 3: We are thrilled to have our Big Lake Elementary Choir participating in Big Lake's first annual Christmas Parade. Choir members will need to meet at the school at 4:00 pm to help decorate the float. The parade will go from the school to Jordan Lake--Public Library. We will then participate in the Tree Lighting Ceremony. Please dress warm for the float ride and singing outside.
5th GRADE FUNDRAISER
5th grade is having a coffee fundraiser to help raise money for the Sea Life Center trip in May.
This will be a year-long fundraiser and coffee will be delivered every other week. There are many different sizes and flavors available starting at $5 for a 2 oz. bag all the way up to $25 for a 2 pound bag.

December Concerts
Kindergarten, 1st, and 2nd grades will perform on Tuesday, December 6 at 6:00 PM. The following Thursday, December 8 will be 3rd, 4th, and 5th grades with band and choir joining in.
Save the date so that you can come and enjoy the music.
BOX TOPS
You still have time to bring Box Tops to your teacher for the grade level competition. We will be announcing the winner soon. Keep those Box Tops coming.

LIBRARY TIPS:
Remember that reading every night for 20-30 minutes really makes a huge impact in your child’s reading ability. Keep up the good work!
LOST & FOUND
AFTER SCHOOL BUS & PICK UP INFORMATION
If your child will be riding a different bus, getting off at a different stop, if you will be picking your child up, or doing anything that is different from their normal routine, please send a note or call the office before 2:30.
Students are released at 3:45 pm.
Please do not leave your vehicle idling in the parking lot, the exhaust gets pulled into the building fans.
PTO MEETING
There will be a PTO meeting on Tuesday, November 29 @ 4:00 pm in the library. Topics of discussion are: Big Lake Community tree lighting, parade and craft fair, and Krispy Kreme Doughnut fundraiser,
UPCOMING PTO EVENTS
Big Lake Elementary PTO is sponsoring a Krispy Kreme FUNdraiser until Wednesday, November 30. One dozen Krispy Kreme Original Glazed Doughnuts is $12.00 and can be picked up at the Big Christmas Bazaar on Saturday, December 3.
PREORDER YOUR YEARBOOK
We are looking for pictures of the first day of school. If you took a picture of your child(ren) on the first day of school and are fine with them being in the yearbook please email the picture to shari.mason@matsuk12.us. In the subject line put first day of school and the student's last name.
Don't forget the Yearbooks will be delivered in April/May. You may pre-order the yearbook. We will only have 100 copies. The cost is $15. You can pay online at schoolcashonline.com, by check, or cash at the school office.
NEWSLETTER
Until the end of the first semester, which is December 22, the school newsletter will be sent home on paper and will also be available via a link in a Connect Ed email, text, and on the school website at matsuk12.us/ble. Beginning January, 2017 the newsletter will only be available online. If you wish to continue to receive the paper version of the newsletter please send a note to the office with your students name and teacher name on it stating paper newsletter.
