State Testing Information
We are entering the time of year where students take the Kansas State Assessments. Students in grades 6-8 will take a Math assessment and an ELA assessment. Students in 8th will also take a Science assessment. Please review the dates below and mark your calendar for the appropriate dates. It is important that students are in attendance on these days to avoid missing instructional time to make up the assessments.
- ELA Assessment:
- Grades 7-8: March 25th-26th
- Grade 6: April 1st-2nd
- Math Assessment:
- Grade 7-8: April 1st-2nd
- Grades 6: April 14th-15th
- Science Assessment (Grade 8): April 15th-16th
Track and Field
The first practice is Tuesday, March 24th.
If your child is wanting to participate in Track and Field please have your child's KSHSAA Physical (dated after May 1, 2019) and Consent Form turned into the office by Friday, March 20th. Also, please be sure to complete Athletic Online Registration, through Skyward.
The Catastrophic Insurance and Activity Participation Fees must be paid as well.

6th Grade Party Information
Thank you for helping to make our spring party fun for our 6th graders. This year we are doing a Hawaiian theme. Students will be encouraged to wear fun clothing that matches the theme to school on Friday, April the 3rd. Volunteers can do the same if they so desire! We will have leis for everyone!
Please sign up to either volunteer or donate items to help make the party a success!
Peers in Learning Applications
If your student is interested in taking Peers in Learning next school year, they will need to complete an application and have two teachers’ complete recommendations.
Applications for next school year are due to Mrs. Linz (Room 311) on or before Friday March 13th, 2020.
No late applications will be accepted.

2020-21 Cheer Tryouts!
*Student Information Meeting: Wednesday, March 11th in the Activity Center during seminar
At this meeting, students will be given important information regarding the tryout clinic, tryouts, and required paperwork for tryouts. This is a MANDATORY meeting. Students MUST attend if wanting to try out for cheerleading.
*Parent Information Meeting: Tuesday, March 24th in the Commons at 6:00pm
At this meeting, parents will be given important information regarding the tryout clinic, tryouts, and required paperwork for tryouts. This is a MANDATORY meeting. A parent MUST attend as a representative for their child if they want to try out for cheerleading.
*Tryout Clinic: Wednesday, March 25th in the Gym from 3:05pm-4:30pm
At this tryout clinic, students will be learning ALL required material to try out for cheerleading. After our clinic is over, ALL material will be uploaded to our MT Cheer YouTube website.
*Tryout: Saturday, March 28th at 9:00am
Registration will begin at 8:30am. We will go over tryout attire and other information at our meetings.
*2020-2021 New Squad Meeting: Tuesday, April 7th in the Commons at 6:00pm
This is a required meeting if your child makes the 2020-2021 MT Cheer squad.
