Red Ribbon Week
The week of October 25-29 MTMS will join schools across the country in celebrating Red Ribbon Week. We will participate with spirit days as well as lessons with each grade level on making decisions that keep them safe and healthy. See links below for more information on the history behind Red Ribbon Week as well as resources for talking to your teens about drugs, alcohol and digital safety.

From Student Council
It's October -- time for a monster movie night! Come and eat popcorn with your friends while watching the classic horror film Frankenstein this Wednesday 10/27 after school in the activity center. All 8th graders are welcome, but a permission slip is required to attend. Students can pick up a slip from their ELT teacher.
We are also in our last week of Socktober, student council's round-up of new socks of all sizes for the homeless shelters at City Union Mission. The team that fills their hallway's collection bin first will enjoy a five-minute early release from school this Friday 10/29. Join in the fun and help make this drive a success!
Spelling Bee
Spelling bee season is starting soon! The first round is a qualifying written bee in ELA classes next month. Students can begin practicing now with the study list found on their ELA teachers' Canvas pages. A print copy can also be picked up from the spelling bee sponsors, Dr. Preston and Miss Cassell.
Have some photos of MTMS students that you would like to share?
The MTMS Yearbook crew needs your help! We are always looking for good photos of MTMS students to include in the yearbook. Ideas include but are not limited to - participating in athletics or activities, back to school shopping, walking to school, learning to drive, serving the school and/or the community, serving others, completing a class project, pursuing outside of school interests, studying, working, students on a field trip, etc.
Our yearbook publisher Herff-Jones has made it super easy, safe and secure to share up to 10 photos at a time. Share photos in the eshare app with the code 3046410 OR you can go to www.hjeshare.com and type in the code 3046410.
