Ice-Cream Party!
Vanilla ice cream, strawberry ice cream, chocolate syrup and whipped cream made for a yummy afternoon treat. Congratulations to Mr. Huy's 8th graders for being the first to turn in 100% of their Impact Aid Program Survey Forms!

Think Blue Brigade

"I Love a Clean San Diego" is coming to Mt. Everest Academy to give a Think Blue Brigade presentation.
Think Blue Brigade is the premier club bringing together eco-conscious high school students throughout the City of San Diego. TBB members participate in fieldtrips and activities investigating local ecosystems and sustainability in San Diego. TBB provides students with the unique opportunity to explore nature, as well as analyze and offer solutions for real world issues. Everyone is invited to attend!

Please come join us for an afternoon of community play and fun! Some favorite events are back: pie throw, cookie decorating, cake walk, duck pond, ring toss, face painting, and football. And some new events are added: pumpkin bowling, photo booth, balloon animals, and more.

- Single tickets: $1 ... Six tickets: $5

WASC Committee Meeting

MEA parents and students in grades 6-12 are needed for committees for our upcoming review by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC). WASC accreditation is an ongoing six-year cycle of quality whereby schools demonstrate the capacity, commitment, and competence to support high-quality student learning and ongoing school improvement.
Your input is invaluable in this process! Please email Principal Browne at cbrowne@sandi.net if you are interested in being a part of our WASC teams or would like to learn more about it. If you were a part of a WASC team last year, we look forward to your continued support!
SSC/SGT Meeting

All parents are invited to attend the School Site Committee (SSC) meeting. The SSC is a shared decision-making body composed of parents, staff, and students. Our Council identifies needs for academic programs and sets budgets to support these programs. More information, agendas, and minutes can be found on our SSC/SGT webpage.

Reminder to All!! If you have earned a FREE WRISTBAND to the Fall Festival by selling 15 times - order forms and money must be turned in by tomorrow, November 7th to the Maker Space!!! Paperwork and money must be given to Ms Barb or Ms Bradford.
Our fundraiser is underway and going until November 16th! If for some reason you did not get fundraising paperwork-you can find some in the main office, library, Maker Space, and computer lab. Some teachers will still have forms as well. Please participate to help us raise money to continue all of the fun activities around school and in the Maker Space. If you do not want to purchase candy, you can always fill out donation paperwork and make a donation to school. We have a great school community; let’s support all that happens on our campus.
For selling candy, the following prizes have been decided on by the ASB:

Congratulations to Avery, Mae, Mark, Luke, Enzo, and Lucia...co-(co-co-co) engineers of the month! These resourceful students designed tools that picked up all the challenge objects for October. Stop by the makerspace this month and build the ultimate flyer. Maybe you will be November's Engineer of the Month!

Our school has earned $104 so far this year for Box Tops! Thanks to everyone who has turned them in.

Box Tops can be turned in to the collection box in the office or in the Parent Lounge.
The Mount Everest Academy Theatre Company is Back and Ready for Their Third Season!
Get ready, because the MEA Theatre Company is back and ready to take on year number three with some exciting new changes!
For the last two years the MEA Theatre Company has been the theatrical outlet for MEA students in grades K-12! Founded in 2015 by Adira Rosen, a junior at the time, the company has proudly presented three main stage productions along with multiple side projects. Take a moment to look at some of our past productions
Although, founder and director, Adira Rosen graduated from MEA this past June, the MEA Theatre Company is going strong and we have some exciting announcements! Mark your calendars for November 27th when the MEA Theatre Company will announce their Third Season along with some other fun news!

Canned Food Drive

SD Chinese Women’s Association Scholarship
The San Diego Chinese Women's Association (SDCWA) offers $1,500 college scholarships open to male and female students graduating by June 2018, with a minimum 3.0 weighted GPA. Book Club
Grades 6-12: If you love to read and then discuss what you've read about, get ready to participate in a new upcoming book club! The first meeting will be on Wednesday, November 29, from 1:00-2:00. More details to follow.
Blues Guitar on the Green
Wednesdays / 12:30-1:30 / Grass area in the elementary area
Mr. Joey Carano (Toler's father) teaches students guitar tuning, chords, simple blues scales, and improvising; all with an emphasis on having fun with the guitar! Everyone is welcome! No experience necessary!
