St. André Bessette Catholic School
May 3-6, 2021
This weekend's gospel parable reminds us that our connection with the Lord is like the relationship between the vine branches and the vine. Away from the vine, the branches will lose the supply of life and then wither and die. From this we can see that the Lord is the source of our life and that it is very important to maintain a proper relationship with God. Only by constantly living before God to have a normal relationship with God can we gain the supply of God’s life and bear the fruit of life. Conversely, if we often stray far from God, then we will have no proper relationship with Him, nor will we have the work of the Holy Spirit. Our life will wither. This is equivalent to the branches withering after being away from the vine. How are you nourishing your relationship with God?

April 30, 2021
Dear St. André Bessette Catholic School Community,
Out of an abundance of caution, Alberta Health Services has approved a request by Elk Island Catholic Schools, to move students from St. André Bessette Catholic School to home/online learning from Monday, May 3, 2021 until a return to in-class school learning on Monday, May 17th. This decision will affect all students in all grade levels.
Teachers will be providing further information through email regarding online learning and expectations, and students can expect to hear from them starting Monday, May 3rd.
We remind students and parents to monitor for any signs or symptoms of COVID-19. The Alberta Health daily online assessment can be found here. Please remember to complete the on-line assessment if you are exhibiting any signs or symptoms.
Please feel free to reach out to the school administration if you have further questions.
Once again, our heartfelt thanks to our students, parents, and teachers as they navigate this transition. Please know that our staff is here to support you as we all work through this unprecedented time together.
Stay well and God bless,

Mrs. Koztizky
Ms. Charlton, English
Ms. Charlton is one of our English teachers who currently is supporting grade 9 students every afternoon. As you see in the picture above she greatly enjoys being outside with her family. She is a huge cycling enthusiast and loves to ride her bike even in the winter! Although she looks like she is 18 years old, she honestly has three amazing kids and a basset hound named Sam.
Ms. Charlton can be reached @ ashley.charlton@eics.ab.ca
Ms. Bazin, Educational Assistant
Ms. Bazin is one of our amazing EA's who is currently with Social 30 students in the morning and a great Math 9 class in the afternoon. She has a quiet and gentle manner but don't let that fool you - she has a mischievous laugh and I wonder if perhaps she might have been a troublemaker once upon a time in school? ;) You can connect with Ms. Bazin @ michelle.bazin@eics.ab.ca
