From the Principal's desk
Be strong and take heart, all who hope in the Lord. Psalm 31:25
The fall weather has arrived!
Today is the feast day of St. John XIII. Friday, Oct. 13 is the 100th Anniversary of Fatima. Next week, the church celebrates the feast of St. Margaret Mary, St. Ignatius of Antioch, and St. Luke. How great to have such great role models to celebrate.
Just a reminder that unless the temperature or wind chill drops below 20, or if it is raining, students will be going outside for recess. Hopefully, students will remember their jackets. Don’t forget to put a name inside, thanks!
Keith Mueller will be here at school on Thursday, Oct. 12 to give the students a demonstration on electrical safety.
Ark of Hope
Friday, Oct. 13 is the next Dress Down for Hope. Again, we ask students to remember the less fortunate as they “dress down” and donate to the Ark of Hope. Each class has written a goal for their donation to purchasing animals to help the poor in the world. Last week, I challenged the students to earn their own donation form mom, dad, grandma or neighbor by doing needed chores around the house. Has that challenge been mentioned in your home? Do you talk about the Ark of Hope?
Bullying Seminar with Jodee Blanco
Jodee presented her story and good guidance to students regarding bullying and how to deal with the situation. If your child has not spoken to you about the presentation he/she attended, please ask about it and see what was learned. She offered great advice and strategies to parents during her presentation last night. Thank you for attending.
Parent – Teacher Conferences
Conferences are scheduled for Thursday, Oct. 19, 1:30-7:00. The Option C portal for signing up for conferences will remain open until Sunday, Oct. 15 at midnight. On Monday, Oct. 16, the school office will assign conference times to those who have not signed up. A note will be sent home with the child letting you know your assigned time.
School dismisses at 1:00 p.m. on Thurs. Oct. 19. There is NO AFTER SCHOOL services on Oct. 19. When there is no After School Services, about a hundred more students are in the carline. Please be aware that the area may be congested on Thursday, Oct. 19 during dismissal. Feel free to adjust your pick up time (come a little later) to help alleviate a backup on Route W. Teachers will supervise students in the carline until 1:20 but will need to be in the classroom at 1:30 for the start of conferences. Thanks for keeping it safe for all. There is NO SCHOOL on Friday, Oct. 20.
Report Cards
First quarter report cards will be sent home with students on Wed. Oct. 18.
May the blessings of God our Father and His son Jesus Christ fill you with hope.
