Principal's Letter
Thank you for your continued support. I have received messages of support and concern for the NW school community. Northwest parents have decided to come together Tuesday, December 12th at 6:30 pm in the Little Theater for brainstorming session regarding supporting our school community. Feel free to stop by and share your ideas with other passionate parents.
I want to announce that we now have Abby Haywood, dean of students, on a full time basis. I want to officially thank our district and board members who helped make that request possible.
The next PSTO meeting will take place January 31st at 6pm. It will not be a typical meeting. I will host a community building circle for parents. The purpose of the circle is to listen, speak your truth and check in on your perspective of the current temperature of things. Circles are designed after how the Aboriginals would hold council. They would sit in a circle around a fire to discuss business, celebrate one another and resolve conflict. We will do something similar.
I have conducted several circles with teachers, community members, students, district administration and family members. I would like to extend this experience to you. Please join us there.
Again, thank you for your continued support. Have a wonderful holiday season.
Sincerely,
Laura Cottrell
