Principal's Message
This is the time of the year when countdowns are inescapable. They are used as timelines to a goal or maybe as momentum to make it to a finish line. Wherever you are with your countdowns take a moment to look the other way- see how far you've come! When I look back I see the 157 days (give/take) that we have experienced with your children and your families so far. I see the immense progress in your child's academic and social goals as well as their emotional being. I see the outpouring support from families showing by example what it means to be a member of our Summit View community. What is most neat about looking back on the days that have passed, is that the number keeps going up with each passing day.
Now eventually we do need to look ahead because, spoiler alert, we only have a few weeks left! How did that happen? I am excited to share that Summit View will be inviting visitors from all over the state on May 6 and 7 as part of the CESA Personalized Learning Site Tours. The education that students experience at Summit View is constructed with many faucets of personalized learning led by the integration of the arts that drives our core beliefs. To host visitors is an honor that we do not take for granted. We speak about our family engagement during these tours and are quick to give credit to the support that helps with the good work!
The month of May also offers us the much anticipated Grandparents Day on May 10. This is a day of celebration as we fill our school with generations of knowledge, experiences, and love for our students. I look forward to seeing the students "show off" their school!
As we look towards June, please watch for more information regarding the Color Run happening here at Summit View on Friday, May 24. This is the postponed Walk-A-Thon Color Run from the fall. In addition, information about showtimes for the annual Musical will be rolling out soon! With all these great events, I hope our paths cross so we can celebrate the year together!
Mr. Garrett Sheskey
Grandparents Day
Grandparents Day is May 10th. We hope you can join us!
If you have questions on the schedule, please see the picture below for all the details. Feel free to call the office @ 262-970-2605, if you have more specific questions.
Health Room Reminders
Medications
If your child has any medications in the health room, you need to pick it up on, or before the last day of school, June 10th. Please contact me on the best way to arrange pick up. Students cannot take medication home in backpacks. If your child is going to be at Summit View for Summer School, medications can remain in the health room, to be available during that time. Medications would need to be picked up on, or before the last day, July 19th.
Reminder for 2019-2020 school year -- All medications, prescribed and over the counter, need to have a new authorization form completed for every school year. It does not carry over from one year to the next. It is always good to get the doctor appointment scheduled in order to have the Authorization to Administer form taken care of, before the 1st day of school. It is best, if you can bring the Authorization Forms and medications, on Say Hello, Drop and Go, on August 28th. That way the medication is already in the health room by the 1st day and it's one less thing to think about for the 1st day back.
Clothing
If your child has borrowed clothing, from the health room, please launder the items and return as soon as you can. The supplies have be dwindling- we really need pants for girls and boys. Leggings and sweats are the best as they fit a wider range of students. A BIG thank you to some recent donations!! You always have the option to pack an extra pair of clothes in your child's backpack.
Wishing you a fun filled summer!! -Ms. Wilch
