7th Grade Math
Mrs. Ayers and Mrs. Landon would like all 7th graders to have Play-Doh for their slicing 3D figures unit. They can buy it, have it delivered (if you don't want to go out) or students can find a recipe to make Play-Doh, with as few as 2 or 3 ingredients.
Students will identify the different types of three dimensional objects, such as prisms, cylinders and cubes, as well at their parts.
A big piece of this unit is creating and slicing the objects. To create the objects, the students need Play-doh and dental floss to cut through the Play-Doh. Students will only need 1 container of Play-Doh and one container of dental floss. if you don't have dental floss, string, fishing line, or thread could be substituted.
We will start our unit on April 29th. Using Play-Doh is way more fun than watching it on a computer screen, but that will be an option if students don't have Play-Doh.
