“Protect me, Holy Spirit, that I may always be holy!”
St. Augustine
Here we are in our last month of school! May God continue to bless our families and staff as we move from the routine of the school day into the carefree days of summer. Protect us, Holy Spirit, that we may always be filled with your holiness in all that we do.
Thank you for your support of the diaper drive for Great Circle, an organization that works with families in need. Our efforts collected over 5,000 diapers and 6,000 wipes. Many holy moments in this activity! Many thanks to our Leadership Council who sponsored this drive.
May is the month dedicated to mothers and especially our Blessed Mother. The 7th Grade class participated in the May Crowning May 2. The third grade class and teachers are planning a special all-school living rosary, May 7 at 7:35 a.m. in the gym. Parents and parishioners are invited to come and pray with us.
Sixth grade students joined other sixth graders throughout the diocese for Vocations Day at the chancery on May 1st. This day was filled with activities regarding the vocations in the church. Students enjoyed the day being with those who celebrate the religious life. The 4th and 5th Grade took a field trip to Bridal Cave also on May 1st.
Next week, students who have met their AR goals for the year will be taking a special field trip to Lazer Lanes. The 8th Grade class will be going on their special end of the year trip to SkyZone. Both of these field trips are on Wed. May 8.
8th Grade Graduation Mass is Monday, May 13 at 7:00 p.m. A reception for graduates and their families will take place in the gym afterwards. Thirteen students will be graduating. Eleven of those students will be moving on to Helias Catholic High School, one student will be continuing at St. Dominic High School in O’Fallon, and one student will be going to Blair Oaks High School. Congratulations to these students and their families for completing the course of study here at St. Stanislaus School. We are proud of you! Always be holy!
Pro Life Wednesdays have been celebrated all year. The Pro Life Committee of the parish provides mini presentations on this day. On May 1st a presentation was made to the students who raised money for the parish’s Walk for Life (despite the snow!). Congratulations to Brooke Bruce, Kally Bruce, Lorelei Weeks, and Caroline Weeks.
The school is in receipt of a check from Box Tops in the amount of $186.00. This is used for student activities. Thank you for your support in this program.
