Seattle University's family e-newsletter - January 2018
Here's to happy and healthy 2018 for all our Redhawk families!
To help your student start 2018 off strong...
The Crosscut Festival
Seattle University will host the inaugural Crosscut Festival, Feb. 2-3. The festival, a signature event for SU Homecoming 2018, serves as a multi-faceted marquee weekend designed for students, alumni, faculty, staff and our community. Join some of the most influential and provocative thinkers in politics and business, as well as cultural luminaries and academics, interviewed live on stage by the region’s best journalists.
The Crosscut Festival website, linked above, will be updated as more presenters and moderators are booked for the conference.
SU Dance Marathon
On January 11, our Seattle U Dance Marathon raised over $72,000 in one day!!! That is almost half of what they raised in total last year!
This year, SU's Dance Marathon has an ambitious goal of raising $206,000! They are calling on our city of Seattle (the 206) and their supporters nation-wide to make an even larger impact. Donate now, or anytime through February 18. Our SU students raise more money for this program than any other college on the west coast!
Help our students reach their goal!

Housing miscellaneous issues...
2018 Winter Quarter meal plan changes are due January 19. Students should log onto the Housing Portal and fill out the meal plan change form online before this date.
Does my student need to leave the residence halls over Spring break?
No, the residence halls will remain open during Spring Break.
My student is going to leave after Winter Quarter (study abroad, graduating early, transferring to another school, etc.), can they stay over Spring Break?
We typically have non-returning students move out 24-hours after their last final or by March 24, whichever comes first. We will do our best to accommodate the resident’s timeline but we do need to have the room re-assigned and then cleaned for the next new student. Please have your student come talk to us as soon as they know they will not be returning to campus after this quarter.
