Pear Deck- #10
- Pear Deck is a free add on for Google Slides. Pear Deck makes your presentations from Google or PowerPoint interactive and allows formative assessment to occur and for real time feedback from students. Students can respond from any device and Pear Deck lives in your Google Drive.
What Would You Use This For?
- Teachers can use Pear Deck to check for understanding to see if instruction needs to be redirected, for exit tickets, small group purposeful talk (Fundamental Five), and more! Click here for examples of lessons and activities.
- Students can use Pear Deck through their Google account to show mastery and understanding of the content being learned and/or taught by creating a presentation of their learning, or teaching a concept themselves.
How Does This Work?
- Teachers create a new presentation or import a presentation to Pear Deck. Students are invited to join the teacher's presentation from their devices so they can interact with the material and respond to prompts. Teachers can also choose to turn on student-paced mode to allow students to work at their speed in the classroom or at home. Students can share anonymous answers on the projectors screen so even the shyest student can be heard.
What Can You Do?
- Teachers can create a presentation from scratch or import a PowerPoint or Google Slide Presentation
- Teachers are able to search their computer, Google Drive, and Google for images and videos that can be inserted into the presentation.
- Teachers can make it interactive by adding different type of slides in the free version: write text, write number, or choose an answer. Teachers are also able to choose non-interactive slides.
