Grading for Spring 2020
In light of the grading protocol communication sent by USD 232 on April 9, we would like to clarify a point where there seems to be some confusion. The district protocol specifically states: "Students who reasonably engage in work assigned to them will receive semester grades no lower than their third quarter grade."
Some students have misinterpreted the protocol to mean the semester grade will automatically be the same as the third quarter grade, so fourth-quarter grades do not count. Students are still expected to complete assignments, take tests/quizzes, and engage in learning opportunities; as long as students make a reasonable effort to do so, the semester grade will not be lower than the third-quarter grade. If a student chooses to stop participating and completing assignments, the semester grade may be lower. Each student should do their best and stay in communication with their teacher(s) about any barriers they experience engaging in the Continuous Learning Plan
Cheer Tryouts
Due to our current situation and to ensure the safety of others, MT will be conducting virtual cheerleading tryouts. If you a 6th or 7th grader interested in trying out for the MT Cheer Squad, please fill out this Google Form by Friday, April 24th. Any form filled out after this date will not be able to try out for the 2020-2021 cheer squad. Please note that even if you went to the student informational meeting back in March, you still need to fill this form out.
Once the cheer candidate fills out the form, they will receive an email from me (Kelly Arbuckle) on Monday, April 27th with the steps for tryouts and our process. If you do not receive an email from me and you think you should have, please let me know. We will also be hosting a Zoom meeting for cheer candidates and parents on Tuesday, April 28th at 7:00pm to answer any questions and go over further information.
For any additional information, please visit our website https://www.usd232.org/Page/4571 or contact Kelly Arbuckle at kmarbuckle@usd232.org or Angie Ayers at angayers@usd232.org.

From the Nurse
Most 6th and 8th grade students had hearing and vision screenings performed before spring break.
Due to the closing of school, after spring break, many result letters were not sent home with students.
To view your students results go to Skyward, Health Info tab, go to Display options, select "tests"
If your student doesn't have results for the 2020 school year that means your student may not have been available the day of screenings and a make-up screening wasn't possible due to school closure.
If you have questions concerning your students results please e-mail the school nurse.
Vaccination records:
Vaccination records can be viewed and printed from Skyward. Go to Skyward, Health Info tab, go to the Display Tab and select "Vaccinations", then print button.
More information about required vaccinations will be coming soon.
