Dear Village Oaks Families,
I hope you all enjoyed the beautiful weather this weekend! This week we will have our annual Fun Run! Our Fun Run is our primary fundraiser and the proceeds from this special event go directly to our school to help pay for teacher appreciation activities, purchase school supplies, fund school assemblies, and so many more things that support VO! The VO Fun Run will be done virtually this year on Wednesday, Sept.30th. We would love if all members of VO would complete a one mile family fun run/walk on Wednesday. Donations for this special event can be made at: https://app.99pledges.com/fund/villageoaks/donate. The boy or girl with the largest donation will win an amazon gift card. Everyone will receive a coupon to Stuart's Ice Cream for participating.
After students complete their fun run we would love if a picture was taken with their completion certificate and emailed to vofunrun@gmail.com. We can't wait to see all of the pictures!

VO Garden Donations
We Need your Support to Help our Garden Grow
The Novi Education Foundation has generously supported the mission of creating an outdoor learning space where students can learn about plants and gardening through hands-on experience by creating the new VO Garden. Our new VO Garden will also help with our vision of providing fresh, healthy food for our students and those in need. While we have been well supported by the District and the amazing NEF, we want to do more. In order to begin projects THIS FALL we are reaching out to our VO Community to ask for you support with supplies and materials.
If you are interested in supporting Gardening and the learning opportunities they provide please consider donating the items listed on our VO Garden Sign-Up:

Meet our new Kindergarten teacher, McKenna Kreutzberg!
This is my 7th year teaching and my first year at Village Oaks. I am so excited to join the Village Oaks family this year. I went to Central Michigan University for my undergrad and Grand Valley State for my Masters in Educational Leadership. My husband and I live in Commerce Twp, with our dog Gordie who is 7 years old. VO Flags
One of the things that makes our building so special is our diverse student population--we have families in our community who come from all over the world! To celebrate our global diversity we have hung flags in our cafeteria that represent many of the countries of our VO families. As a gift from VO retirees we were given flags of the following countries: Israel, India, United Kingdom, Canada, Mexico, Brazil, Nigeria, South Korea, China, and USA. Thank you to our parents who have also donated the following flags: Poland, Singapore, Japan, Germany, Finland, Ireland, Nepal, Greece, Pakistan, Uruguay, Ecuador, Portugal, Spain, Central African Republic, South Africa, Wales, Iceland, Australia, Armenia, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Russia, Scotland and Yemen. If you would like to purchase a flag of your country of origin or to represent one of the many nationalities of our school please visit Amazon and search for an ANLEY 3x5 flag: VO Flags
Before purchasing and donating the flag to our school’s collection please contact me or one of our secretaries with the flag information so we can make sure that another family has not already ordered the same flag.
