New Mailbag Format: We are excited to announce our new format. Simply click on any part of the mailbag and it will open in a separate browser. This gives the school the ability to insert new features. If you scroll to the bottom, you will notice a font size selector, a high contrast mode to read in black and white and a full translator, capable of translating the update into many languages.
Middle School Parent Information Evening will take place on TONIGHT Thursday, September 12 at 6:00 p.m. in Coristine Hall and Rossy Agora. Please see the attached letter and schedule for more information. Teachers will be reviewing Grade 7 Course Descriptions and Grade 8 Course Descriptions that are available to you from our Middle School webpage.
Before attending the Parent Information Evening, you may find it helpful to review your son's class schedule so you're familiar with who his teacher's are. This can be done via your OnCampus parent profile, by selecting your son's name and viewing his Courses under the Progress tab.
New traffic signs: We received notification from Westmount Public Security that as of July 23, new signs have been posted on the south side of Cote St. Antoine. There is no stopping and absolutely no parking at any time of the day, evening or night in this area.
Spirit Day - Wednesday, September 18: Annual Spirit Day, 3:30 to 5:30 pm! Join Selwyn families for an afternoon of games, food, entertainment and more! Beaver Tails food truck will be on site and will be selling their delicious pastries for $6. In support of Westmount Park Elementary School, we will be collecting school supplies as a donation at the entrance to the Spirit Day activities. Spirit Day tickets will be available at the tables located under the arches to the Guzzo Family Playground. Click here for a glimpse at the program. Parents interested in volunteering can contact Maureen Powers at powersm@selwyn.ca.
No Breakfast Served: Due to an early morning senior school function, breakfast will NOT be served on September 18.
The Study will be holding a Grade 7&8 dance on Friday, September 20. See the attached flyer for details. Tickets for Selwyn students will be on sale next week. Please note that there will be no physical tickets given to your son. It will cost $10 to attend the dance, and absolutely no tickets will be sold at the door. An invitation from the Headmaster....we are all in this together.
Fall Gryphon Sale Tally – A huge thank you to all of you who donated so much, literally the amount of donations we received this year was off the charts! Thanks to your generosity and to all of you who joined us at the sale, we successfully raised $5705.00. What a great way to start off the school year by helping contribute so much to the Nancy Pitfield Endowment fund and by ensuring that very good uniform items were recycled into new homes. We’ll see you at the next Gryphon Sale on January 22, 2020. Until then please drop off any gently used uniform articles you may have with Kim at the front desk.
Book Launch Invitation: You’re invited to the launch of the French language edition of Susan Doherty-Hannaford’s most recent book Le jardin des fantômes. See the attached invitation for more details. In her words: Je suis tellement excitée à propos de cet événement. Veuillez cliquer sur le lien pour enregistrer votre présence! Susan Doherty: invitation@groupehomme.com
