SHBP Employee Open Enrollment
Open Enrollment will begin October 17, 2016 thru November 4, 2016.
Each employee will be required to have a current user name and password in order to enroll with medical insurance. If you were employed last year, you will be able to use the same user name, however all passwords expire every 45 days, therefore everyone will be required to go to www.myshbpga.adp.com to update before Open Enrollment.
All New Hires should use the user name and password created when hired. If it has been over 45 days, the password will need to be updated, as well. Please see below for instructions on updating your password.
Content Mastery and Problem Solving
The CAFE Book Study. This is an online professional learning opportunity to read and discuss The CAFE Book: Engaging All Students in Daily Literacy Assessment I Instruction. The book, authored by Gail Boushey & Joan Moser “The 2 Sisters,” will be the foundation for this opportunity. Participants will use the book and collaborative discussion as a springboard to improve basic literacy pedagogy. The October-November discussion will center on Chapters 3-4. The Daily Five Book Study.
This is an online professional learning opportunity to read and discuss The Daily Five, by Gail Boushey & Joan Moser “The 2 Sisters.” Participants will use the book and collaborative discussion as a springboard for teachers to benefit and improve individual literacy pedagogy. Learning A-Z Support Group. This google classroom is an online professional learning opportunity to allow teachers to share knowledge and ask questions about Learning A-Z.

Coweta 3D Science PLC
The Coweta 3D Science PLC is a self-paced learning community designed to introduce teachers and administrators to the "3D" approach to science that is required by the new Science Georgia Standards of Excellence. The PLC consists of 10 modules designed to be completed within grade level/team/department groups at your school. Each module takes about 20-30 minutes to complete. Complete all 10 modules and submit the reflection form for each and you'll receive a "3D Science Level 1 Educator" certificate and be recognized at the end of the year. Developing Understanding of the Standards for Proficiency and More
This session is part of a monthly series of professional learning. It will focus on diving deep into the current and/or upcoming content standards by examining aligned assessment items and engaging in tasks that will help students construct conceptual and procedural understanding. Although participation in the face-to-face sessions is limited to Western Elementary teachers, resources will be made available to all Coweta teachers through the K-2 Math and 3-5 Math Google classrooms after the presentations.

Elementary Parent Chromebook Training
Elementary Parent Chromebook training in the PLC conference room. In this training opportunity it will introduce parents to how to use the Chromebooks, common applications students are using, and answer any questions parents may have about their use. Please forward the link below in any documentation sent out to parents such as in a newsletter, PTO mailings, reminders, etc... After completing this training at several schools across the district, the parents need and requests for this class have been tremendous.

Participants will observe classrooms and review trend data to measure the school's program effectiveness on student achievement to identify school strengths and opportunities for growth.

Coweta Manufacturing Day
The Coweta County School System, in partnership with the Coweta Development Authority and local manufacturers, will be offering Coweta teachers the opportunity to see first hand the advanced manufacturing going on right here in Coweta County. Participants will get to meet local manufacturing employees and hear about the skills their jobs require. They'll get to meet local student apprentices from the CEC who are participating in our first of its kind GA CATT industrial mechanic German apprenticeship program. You'll also get to interact and network with local business leaders to hear first hand what their needs are and how what you do in the classroom adds to their bottom line and in turn, directly benefits you!

Making Sound Leadership Decisions in Regards to Special Education, IDEA, 504
Coweta County School System views its educational leaders as being significantly influential in a school community which pursues high learning through continuous, systematic and sustained improvement.
The 2015-2017 Leadership Academy IV is designed to identify, develop and inspire current administrators and aspiring administrative candidates.

The program is open to current principals, assistant principals and teachers who wish to gain further knowledge of leadership roles and responsibilities. Due to the nature of the program, participation will be limited. A sign-up format will be implemented, and candidates may choose the individual sessions they wish to attend.
