WHAT'S HAPPENING IN PE
Levels, Pathways, and Animal Movements
Levels and Animal Movements
In grades k-2 we discussed levels. The levels include high, medium, and low and students traveled through each pathway. Students explored these levels by imitating certain animals. For example, a snake slithering is an example of a low level. Below you can see other examples performed by the students in class.
Low Level
Slithering snakes.
Medium Level
Bear crawling.
High Level
Floating like a butterfly.
PATHWAYS
In grades k-2 we discussed pathways which included zig zag, circular, spiral, straight, and winding. Traveling in a variety of different pathways creates better spatial awareness, which is a useful skill in any physical activity.
