The Tooth Fairy is Coming to Dublin!
BRIGHTSMILES is a non-profit organization dedicated to ensuring Michigan children receive oral health care regardless of their insurance status or ability to pay for dental services.
To achieve this mission its teams of licensed dental professionals provide a comprehensive range of dental services to children on-site at schools. For eight years BRIGHTSMILES’ practicing dentists and dental hygienists have delivered oral health prevention and treatment services for Michigan children Pre-K through 5th grade regardless of insurance status. Children receive all services at NO Charge to their parents or school.
Accessing oral health care in Michigan is difficult partially due to a shortage of providers willing to provide dental services to the uninsured. Over half of all Michiganders lack of oral health insurance. Students needing dental care miss more school than those who are able to access dental care, and have lower grade point averages. One in four Michigan 4th graders has untreated dental disease. This is a statistic BRIGHTSMILES can confirm. Over one-third of children they serve need treatment for dental disease and 10% of these children need urgent care. BRIGHTSMILES is able to provide children the treatment they urgently need when they need it at no cost.
The Bright Smiles Tooth Fairy will be visiting our school on Wednesday, October 5th to talk with kids about the program. Teachers will be sending home an application that day for parents to sign up if they choose. Students will also come home with a bracelet reminding them to talk their parents about this program.
If you have questions about the program, please let us know. This is another way we want to partner with families at Dublin and promote the good dental health of our students.
