Did You Know...- #68
Remote for Slides
Remote for slides allows you to use your iOS device to remotely run your Google Slide presentation. Check out the steps below on how to make it happen:
- Start by downloading the Google Slides App from the Apple Store onto your iOS device.
- Once it's downloaded, you need to sign-in with your mwisd Google account. If you have never used your Google account on this device before, you may receive a security notification in your Outlook mail notifying you that your account has been signed into a different device.
- On your desktop, download the extension, 'Remote for Slides'. If you're not sure how to add an extension, click here for more information.
- After it's downloaded, find the presentation on your desktop you want to present. After opening it, you should see a 'Present with Remote'. Once you choose 'Present with Remote', you should see a Slide ID that has a 6 digit number.
- Now, on your iOS device, go to s.limhenry.xyz. In here, type in the 6 digit code.
Have fun presenting while walking around the room.
Getting Started | Remote for Slides
Google Sheets: Cell History
When you have several others working on a sheet, it's critical to understand who made the changes and why. Sheets now has cell history. You can now access the cell history of a cell by right clicking on it and choosing 'show edit history'. The information includes who made the last edit, when that edit was made, and the cell's previous value. See the video by clicking here.
Paintbrush Format Feature
The Paintbrush Format feature can be used in Google Doc, Google Sheets, Google Slides, and Google Draw. It saves time by editing text to a format of your choice.

Build A Turkey Activity
Are you looking for a creative writing activity? Check out this blog from Eric Curts about a 'Build a Turkey' Google Slides template that was created by Beth Kingsley (@bethkingsley13). Once you click on the link here, it's going to force you to make a copy. It will then be in your Google Drive where you can check it out and add it to your Google Classroom as a fun holiday activity. Take a picture of your students working on it and then email it to me to be entered in the Fall Tech Challenge.
