St. Stan Star
February 14, 2018
From the Principal's desk
Be strong and take heart, all who hope in the Lord. Psalm 31:25
May the blessings of God, our Father, be with each of you.
Today our 4th and 5th grade students enjoyed lunch at the Governor's Mansion for a special science event. The event was covered by KRCG and may air tonight on the news.
Generous students come from parents who teach their children to think of others. For the second time this year, a student donated the birthday money received to the Ark of Hope. What a testament to our school families! The school total is inching up to $3,000, this is way beyond our goal!
It was great to see so many of our parents here yesterday helping with the St. Valentines parties. Today the season of Lent began with Mass and the reception of ashes. Students ate in silence in the cafeteria today as part of “silence” during this season. What a great job they all did! Even our Early Childhood students! Students are invited to participate in “sacred silence” during lunch on Fridays during Lent. Students will also have the opportunity to pray The Stations of the Cross.
As usual, many activities are taking place in and around school. The Catholic Bowl began this week and our basketball teams are involved in games this week and hopefully on the weekend. There is NO BUS service on Friday, Feb. 16 (Blair Oaks is not in session). There is NO SCHOOL on Monday, Feb. 19, Presidents’ Day.
Next week the Visiting Team will be here at our school taking a look at our Self-Study Report. They arrive on Wednesday afternoon and will be working on the report until Friday afternoon. An oral report will be given to the committee members on Friday afternoon. Please pray for the success of this visit.
Time to Re-enroll. It is our hope that your family will again choose St. Stanislaus School for your Catholic education commitment. The process for re-enrolling has been made very simple by using your OPTION C account. Access your family page. Under the “Office” tab at the top, select “Enrollment”. Choose the correct response and “submit to school”. Each family is expected to pay $100 of the registration fee by March 15, 2018 to finalize the enrollment process. Back to School packets will be available by late July. In that packet will be a statement indicating the balance due Aug. 14, the first day of school. This statement will include your credit from Scrip sales. School Fees for 2018-2019 are attached. Some fees have increased for the school year.
May God continue to bless us in all that we do to build up His kingdom with hope and love.
