5 iReady Lessons (if you didn't meet your growth goal)
Math:
- iReady - 3 iReady math lessons due by Friday
- Monday - Thursday - Daily quick checks (12-4, 15-1, 15-2, 15-3)
- If quick check score is <60, you must complete the additional practice page for that lesson (front and back)
- Friday - no math homework
- Students who achieved their iReady growth goal are exempt from all math homework
Science:
- We will be taking a quiz on Monday, but will be in groups to discuss.
Phonics/Spelling:

5th Grade End of Year Information
Friday May 17- House Day/Party Day:
- 5th grade will NOT participate in the school wide end of year party day. We will have the final House Championship instead and would like parents to provide items for a pizza party. Please send in items the morning of May 17. Money is due Friday May 10.

Reminders & Requests
Transportation Changes:
- All transportation changes must be handwritten and include the date and a guardian's signature.
- In the case of an emergency, you must call the front office and notify Mrs. Lewis of the change.
- Students will attend Study Hall during our recess time if homework from the previous day is not completed/submitted on time.
- Students who fail their nightly math quick check (score less than 60) are required to complete the additional practice page (front and back) for that lesson. Students who do not complete the additional practice page will attend study hall during recess until it is complete.
- View completed iReady Reading Lessons on their Chromebook
- Have your child login to iReady Reading > Click "My Progress" > Click "Completed Work".
- From here you can see the dates and scores of completed iReady lessons.
- View their grades in the Powerschool Parent Portal
- This will only show the overall letter grade not individual assignments
- Email Mrs. Wolfe (hwolfe@hoover.k12.al.us) if you need your login information resent
Flu Information:
- If your child is exhibiting symptoms of any kind, or if they have been diagnosed with the flu please keep them home and notify all 5th Grade Teachers, Mrs. Wolfe (hwolfe@hoover.k12.al.us), and Nurse Rice (krice@hoover.k12.al.us).

Excuses:
You can now EMAIL your student excuses directly to our Registrar, Hollie Wolfe. If you have a doctor excuse, take a photo of it as is and send it to the address below. For parent notes, simply prepare your HANDWRITTEN excuse including student name, date(s) of absence, reason for absence, and add your signature. THESE MUST BE SUBMITTED WITHIN 3 DAYS. Take a photo of this with your phone and email it to:

- If you would like to celebrate your child's birthday at school, you can purchase ice cream for their homeroom class. Ice cream costs $0.75. Please pay for this treat in advance!
