Monday Message

What are you thankful for?
November is a good time to reflect on all that we're grateful for! Here are some of the comments posted on the board outside the Library:
Fall Watercolor Art
Elementary Art created watercolor art inspired by the beautiful colors of Fall. Students used a tape resist technique to make the silhouetted trees, and they used a wash to create the background.

The Honor Society recognizes the outstanding achievement of learners of German. Every year Delta Epsilon Phi awards one outstanding member with a scholarship, and an all expenses paid trip to Germany. The trip includes a summer study program of three weeks, living with a host family, attending classes, and participating in excursions.
Contact Mr. Spiegelberg (dspiegelberg@sandi.net) for more information concerning eligibility. Special thanks to Mr. Martin Schapiro for his contribution in making this happen!
Holiday Cards for Seniors
MEA Families! Come make holiday cards for seniors in the Maker Space during the month of December! These cards will go to seniors who live at Canyon Villas, located right at Balboa Avenue and Clairemont Drive.
We are partnering with them, so if you have ideas of activities we could do with them or things we could do for them, please contact Miss Barb-bmulvany@sandi.net. Ideas already floating around-bringing some of our wonderful musicians to play music. Another idea is to make crafts to give to the seniors or make with them. Also, some students may want to present reports or school work they have done that they'd like to share with others. Of course we can also have game days or other social gatherings. We could grow plants and give them to the seniors in the springtime. These are just a few ideas-I'd love to hear yours as well! Thank you very much!
Toys and Gift Cards Drive
SD Center for Children Wacky Wonky Wonderland
The MEA community plans to help local children in need! Starting this week until December 12, we will be collecting new toys and gift cards to spread holiday cheer. Please put your unwrapped donations in our collection box in the library. See this flyer for requested toys, presents, and gift cards. Thank you in advance to this beautiful community!
Days of Giving & Receiving
Until the new year, lets join together as an MEA community to acknowledge this season of Giving and Receiving. Small kindnesses, acts of self-care, love and empowerment take on a life of their own when we practice them together! Letās go for it!! Look to the Monday Message and around campus for ideas of how to participate each day. Letās enjoy this beautiful time of year together!!
Tuesday, 11/28: Do something kind for yourself. What makes you happy? Visiting a friend? Drawing or dancing? Do something that makes you smile.
Wednesday, 11/29: Compliment someone. See how it feels to appreciate someone else. Itās good!
Thursday, 11/30: Be aware of saving water. Turn off the water when brushing your teeth or washing dishes. Love our planet!
MEA Dress Code
Students are expected to use good judgment, safety, good taste, and modesty regarding their dress and grooming. Any clothing that is potentially disruptive to the educational process is inappropriate for school. No bare midriffs (no skin may show between the shirt and pants, shorts or skirt).
Monday Message to Students
STUDENTS, would you like to receive the Monday Message directly to your personal email address? This can be helpful, especially for older students, so you can stay informed of what's happening here at Mt. Everest Academy. Please go to this link to submit your own email.
Elementary Students on Campus
To parents of elementary students,
Students in grades K-5 are supervised when they are in study groups and PALS. Any other time elementary students are on campus, they need to be supervised by a parent or family member. They should not be left on their own to go from one extracurricular activity to another. Please plan for your child's supervision, so they can enjoy all the wonderful activities and friendships that are available here on campus.
Canned Food Drive
Hello Mt Everest Families!!
Thank you all who have donated to our Food Drive! We appreciate your donations so very much! If you have not yet donated or would like to bring in more, the box is still in the library eagerly awaiting your donations! The box will be in the library until December 8th.
