Children's Programs
Make It Take It Craft
April 2 through April 30, library hours, Glocester Manton Library
Age Level: Children ages 3 and up**
**Children under 5 years may need parental assistance.
Drop by and make a fun craft! During April, make a spring themed craft that children can make and take home. Crafts will be available during library hours and will rotate on a bimonthly schedule. Note: Registration is not necessary for this program.
Hot Wheels Racing
Monday, April 16, 11 a.m., Glocester Manton Library
Age Level: Ages 6 and up
Join the Lincoln Johnny Lightning Race Club and bring your Hot Wheels cars from home as well as use the race cars provided by the club on their super indoor track! Play and learn from the professionals!
Pow! Science!: Dinosaurs
Tuesday, April 17, 10:30 a.m., Harmony Library
Age Level: Ages 4-8
Children will learn about plant and meat eating dinosaurs, simulate dinosaur digestion in a "Whole Class" experiment, make two kinds of fossils and play a fun game to find other members of their dinosaur herd! Each child will make an etching booklet of their favorite dinosaur fossils to take home.
Project CHICK
Friday, April 20, 2 p.m., Glocester Manton Library
Age Level: All ages
Join us for Casey Farm's hands-on chicken program. Children will be introduced to a live Dominique chicken and five chicks. Children will be taught how to hold and care for chickens. Children will also be able to touch a chicken and a variety of eggs.
Graphic Novel Book Club
Thursday, April 26, 4 p.m., Harmony Library
Age Level: 7-12 years old
Join the Harmony Library's newest book club! Each month, children will pick up a book from the graphic novel series of the month at the Circulation Desk. At the end of the month, we'll discuss the series over snacks. Children will be encouraged to talk about the books, draw the characters, or discuss other great graphic novels. April’s graphic novel series selection will be Lunch Lady by Jarrett J. Krosoczka. Children can read any of the ten books in the Lunch Lady series.

Cookbook Club
Monday, April 9, 6 p.m., Harmony Library
In April, the group will follow Simply Ming One-Pot Meals: Quick, Healthy & Affordable by Ming Tsai. The club works this way: every month, pick up a copy of that month's cookbook selection at the Harmony Library. Choose a recipe to make and prepare it for the next month's meeting. We will sample each other's dishes and discuss our cooking experiences.
Finding Humor in Retirement

The old rules, the hours, the daily habits suddenly it all changes in retirement and affects both partners. Discover steps that couples can take when faced with typical retirement problems along with effective solutions.
Fearless Art Club

Each month, we explore different drawing challenges to spark our creativity and enhance our drawing skills. The topics of exploration are guided by the members. All levels of experience are welcome. All materials will be provided.
Writers' Support Group

Read and share your personal projects at this monthly meeting. This adult group is open to writers in all genres.
Crochet Group

Beginners and crocheters that are more advanced are invited to learn and share their experience in a comfortable room for crochet and conversation! Ashley Ledoux, an experienced crocheter, will teach beginners and be available for assistance and advice.
Meditation for Healthy Living

We try to exercise and eat right to keep us fit and healthy, but doctors are now recognizing that a positive attitude and "food for the soul" are also important. Dr. Alan Post will help you discover a simple meditation technique that can melt away stress and be a powerful addition to a healthy living regime.
Birds’ Nest Necklace Pendant
Monday, April 30, 6 p.m., Harmony Library
Learn how to make a simple yet stylish bird’s nest necklace pendant with wire and beads. No special skills are needed, and the library will provide all materials. Space is limited. This program is suitable for adults and teens, 14 years and older.

Sign up for instruction in the basics of computer use, email, and Internet searching. If you want to work on Microsoft Office 2013 or 2016, including Word, PowerPoint, or basic Excel, let us know when you register.
