End Of Year Events Document
May 2021 is quickly approaching and we have numerous events planned. Please use the reference document linked below to save the important dates. Additional information about each event is also included in the document. This End-of-Year document has information about:
- Maverick Awards Night
- Textbook Drop Off
- Yearbook Pickup
- Chromebook Return
- Summer Textbook Distribution
- and much, much more.
Once yearbooks arrive (scheduled for the first week of May) we will add that distribution to the list.
Graduation - May 27
Cap and Gown Pickup and Ordering - Deadline 4/30
For those seniors whose orders have not come in yet, we will notify you once they arrive on campus to arrange pickup. For those still waiting, Ms. Silva will email you when yours gets in.

MCHS Student Wins Public Speaking Award
Congrats to Leah Coffey, third place winner of the Rumbaugh Oratory Competition of the North Carolina Sons of the American Revolution. Her oration captured the attention and respect of the panel of the three judges. The panel wrote, "You brought an impressive story of the role of the Sons of Liberty in defending rights and liberty in the Colonies." Leah's third place finish netted her a $50 award. Congrats, Leah!
Ms. Machak's Counselor Corner
Junior Parent Night 5/3 @ 6pm
- Junior Parents please save the date for our Junior Parent Night. It will be held virtually via zoom, and Mrs. Machak will go over graduation requirements, senior year timeline, and college/future planning.
- All Mavericks are invited to this Virtual Awards Ceremony. This year has been different than any other, and we want to celebrate the successes together as a community.
- All seniors are required to complete this survey to notify Durham Public Schools about after high school plans and scholarships.

Mock Interviews
Are you graduating and going into the workforce? Do interviews make you nervous? If so, DTCC Career Services can help you! They will hold mock interviews for interested students. Mock interviews are designed to give you feedback after you do a practice interview so you can improve for your real interview. This could also be good practice for scholarship interviews as well.
