School Messenger App & Safe Arrival
Hadfield will be implementing the District's new Safe Arrival attendance protocol effective Monday October 22nd. As with any new system, we expect that there may be a few issues that arise along the way. If you experience any issues please report them to the contacts listed in the attached letter.
Here are a few tips that will help make your transition to the new system easier.
1) By far the easiest way to interact with the new system is by downloading the app on your phone and signing up for an account.
2) If you are not an app user and prefer to use your computer signup and login at https://go.schoolmessenger.com/
3) The phone option is still available by calling the attendance line at school. There will be a menu there to transfer your call into the new system. You may however, want to use the direct number 1-866-490-7371. By dialing direct from a phone that is registered with the district, the system should recognize the number you are calling from and be able to quickly identify your children and allow you to confirm their absence.

Unity Day Wednesday October 24th - Wear Orange
“More than one of every five school-aged children report being bullied,” said Julie Hertzog, director of PACER’s National Bullying Prevention Center, which sponsors Unity Day and founded National Bullying Prevention Month in 2006. “It’s important these students know they are not alone and that they have the right to feel safe. By joining together and wearing ORANGE on Unity Day, we can send the unified message that we care about student’s physical and emotional health and that bullying will no longer be accepted in this society.”
Want to unite against bullying? It's easy. Wear orange!

Waukesha County Dental Clinic
Hadfield second and third graders are invited to take advantage of a free dental program offered by the Waukesha County Community Dental Clinic.
This program is designed to provide dental examinations, decay prevention (fluoride varnish), dental sealants if needed, and education about keeping teeth and gums healthy. Sealants are a tooth colored, plasticlike material that has been proven to be very effective in protecting teeth from decay (cavities). They are placed only on the chewing surfaces of back teeth (molars), but are not put on teeth that already have cavities.
The program will take place at school on Friday November 2nd. and all second and third graders are invited to participate. Dental hygienists from the Waukesha County Community Clinic will talk with students about the program and about keeping their smiles healthy on October 15th. They will then send home permission forms.
