From the Principal's desk
Be strong and take heart, all who hope in the Lord. Psalm 31:25
Today is the feast of St. Francis of Assisi. The second grade students received special pins during the traditional pinning ceremony. How nice to see so many parents, grandparents, and guests at our prayer service this morning.
Students have done a good job with testing this week. Thank you for your efforts.
Bullying Seminar with Jodee Blanco
If your child said, “A kid at school is bullying me,” how would you react? What would you say to your child? What actions would you take with the school? How would you help your child? What should you never say to a bullied child and why? Jodee Blanco will be here to answer those questions. Make a commitment to attend the Bullying Seminar that is being presented at your own school, free of charge, so that you are prepared and know how to react should this happen to you. The teachers are doing a bullying seminar with Jodee on Monday evening. All students will go through a seminar with Jodee Blanco on Tuesday morning. Parents are invited to take part in the bullying seminar on Tuesday, Oct 10 evening beginning at 7:00 p.m. in the school gym. This is a family seminar and parents are invited to bring their children to her talk on Tuesday night.
Two other schools, St. Thomas the Apostle, and Immaculate Conception School (Jefferson City) will be joining our staff on Monday evening and our students on Tuesday morning. The public is invited to attend the Tuesday evening seminar. So that we are prepared with seating, please respond to the RSVP found in the STAR today.
Parent – Teacher Conferences are scheduled for Thursday, Oct. 19, 1:30-7:00. Since we only have one conference day scheduled during the school year, the school would like to see 100% attendance by parents. Signing up for a conference will be done online through our Option C program. See directions below.
Dates to remember. The parish fall supper is Sunday, Oct. 8. There is NO SCHOOL on Monday, Oct. 9. Also, school dismisses at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 19 for Parent-Teacher Conferences. There is NO AFTER SCHOOL services on Oct. 19. There is NO SCHOOL on Friday, Oct. 20.
