Single Session - Friday, May 19th
Just a reminder that tomorrow is a single session! Students will be dismissed at 12:00 - no exceptions! If students are not present for the entire school day, they will be denied entrance to the Prom.
The Prom Promenade will be held from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. in the DHS Performing Arts Center. The Junior-Senior Prom will be held from 7:00 to 11:00 p.m. at the Camden Aquarium. We wish all the students going to the prom a wonderful and memorable time.
Band/Chorus/Art Department Showcases
As the school year begins to come to a close, we are looking forward to our annual end-of-the-year events and showcasing our students' talents. Please check the list of events provided below or on our web site. Next week, the Visual Arts Department has wonderful events planned. Come out and support our students!
NJBCT
The New Jersey Biology Competency Test (NJBCT) will be administered during the morning on Wednesday, May 31st and Thursday, June 1st. We will follow a regular bell schedule. All Biology students, with the exception of AP Biology students, must sit for the test. All other students will attend their regular classes.
Calculator Policy
For the 2017-2018 school year, Delran High School will implement a new calculator policy. Beginning in September, all mathematics students will be required to have a graphing calculator that will be brought to class on a daily basis. The teachers will no longer have calculators in the classroom for student use; therefore, it is incumbent on the students to bring their calculator daily. We do have a few calculators that are available for students to sign-out for the year (like a textbook); however, priority will be given to students who have shown financial need. The Math Department suggests the TI-83 or TI-84 model since they are able to be used on all assessments, including standardized tests.
We are presently working with local vendors to secure a lower price by buying the calculators in bulk. Stay tuned for updates in my future broadcasts.
Final Exams
For the 2016-2017 school year, final exams will run on a different schedule than in the past. All final exams will be given by department instead of by period. The schedule for the last week of school is as follows:

Busses will run at the normal pick-up time ONLY. If your child does not have an exam during the first exam period, we will have a quiet study area for them.
Transportation Home from DHS:
Busses will take students home after the first exam session (9:45 a.m.) and again at the end of the second exam session (12:00). If your child does not have an exam during the second session, we ask that they leave the school campus following the first exam.
Conflict exams are only given for those students who have more than one exam within a tested department. Prior arrangements must be made with the student's teacher before the final exam period.
As in the past, all students MUST be present for their exam. Make-up exams are NOT given in the case of absence unless medically excused and contact has been made with the school. There are no exceptions to this procedure.

The Golf team is currently 11-4. The team will play Moorestown. Date and time to be determined.
The Boys’ Lacrosse team's season came to an end on Monday. Delran is so proud of the effort that the students and staff gave during this season. If the team puts great energy into the off season, the future looks bright.
