If you have not organized your Google Classroom, check it out...
Moving Assignments
If you are not already doing so, you might want to consider moving all of your old six weeks Topics and its assignments, down to the bottom of your Google Classroom Classwork Page. Think about creating a placement Topic labeled 'Old Assignments Beyond This Point' for visual aesthetics. This way, it's visually appealing to the eye and makes it easier for the students to find the topics and assignments they are working on.Keep in mind, the great thing about creating a new topic is that it brings it to the top which allows the user to see the newest assignment.
Color Coding and Emojis
As you learned from your PD at the beginning of the year, don't forget to use emojis to organize your Google Classroom. Check out this previous S'more for more information about this topic.
- You can color code by the day of the week, e.g., Monday is a red circle, Tuesday is an orange circle.
- Use emojis for what is going to be graded and what is practice, e.g., an exclamation point for grading and a pause icon for practice.
- Use emojis to specify what subject the assignments are in, e.g., a book for reading, pencil for writing.

- Reflect on Your Learning- Alice Keeler shared a great Google Slide that was created by Lisa Hosler to help her students with how to use the Private Comments in Google Classroom to reflect on an assignment. Click here to make a copy, but don't forget to give credit to Lisa Hosler.
- Exit Slips- Needing an exit slip? Check out this exit slip created by Jennifer Lindley for practically any grade level. One way to use this slip is if you have assigned students to be identified by numbers and not names, you can have your class fill in the exit slip at the same time by inputting their number identification in the text.
