Christmas Wreath Fundraiser
Saturday, December 1 through Saturday, December 15, during library hours, Glocester Manton Library
Hand decorated Christmas wreaths will be available for purchase during open hours at the library. Donation for each wreath is $20. Your support is greatly appreciated!
Glocester Libraries Candlelight Open House
Thursday, December 6, 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., Glocester Manton Library
We’re celebrating the candlelight season and have sweet treats, hot cocoa, crafts, a Baubles and Bling Fundraiser, and some fun ukulele music for you! Registration is not necessary.
Family Gingerbread House Contest
Wednesday, December 12, 6 p.m., Glocester Manton Library
Families are invited to come and create a family “gingerbread” house while listening to holiday music, sipping hot chocolate, and munching on holiday cookies. This annual event is a fun night of holiday cheer for families with a little bit of competition thrown in! Note: Each family is asked to bring one or more bags of candy to contribute to the community decorating table.
Holiday Evergreen Centerpiece Workshop
Tuesday, December 18, 6 p.m., Glocester Manton Library
Learn how to make a fresh and fragrant centerpiece for your holiday dinner table from greens gathered in your own backyard. Please bring garden clippers, work gloves, special decorations, fresh cut greens, and your holiday cheer! There is no cost for this workshop

Christmas Storytelling & Tea Party
Thursday, December 6, 6 p.m., Harmony Library
Glocester resident, author & storyteller Cheryl Ann Dickinson will get you into the Christmas spirit as she reads from her Christmas book, The Little Farmhouse Inn. Following her reading, children will be invited to a tea party as she autographs copies of her book. Copies of the book will be available to purchase, cash only. Children of all ages with their caregivers are welcome!
The Science of Superheroes

Help us save Captain America! Captain America is in a deep freeze and we need to use scientific skills to help defrost him safely. MobileQuest Adventures brings fun and educational learning opportunities to life with hands on learning activities.

Cookbook Club
Monday, December 3, 6 p.m., Harmony Library
Our cookbook for this December is King Solomon’s Table: A Culinary Exploration of Jewish Cooking from Around the World by Joan Nathan. If you would like to join, register online and then drop by the Harmony Library to pick up a copy of the book.
Holiday Wreath Workshop
Monday, December 3, 6 p.m., Glocester Manton Library
This annual program is best described as a good old fashioned wreath making gathering! Learn how to hand-tie a holiday wreath with greens you collect from your own backyard. Please bring clippers and garden gloves. Wreath rings, decorations, and ribbon will be provided or you can bring special decorations and ribbon. There is no cost for this workshop.
Holiday Glass Painting Craft
Tuesday, December 4, or Monday, December 10, 6 p.m., Harmony Library
Learn how to paint a simple holiday scene on a glass bowl. After the paint has set, enjoy your bowl as a votive candle holder or candy dish. No special skills are needed, and the library will provide all materials. Advance registration is absolutely required and space is limited. This program is suitable for adults and teens (14+). There is a $3 materials’ fee.
Tuesday Movie Matinee
Tuesday, December 4, 11, and 18, 2 p.m., Glocester Manton Library
Tuesday Matinees offer new feature films on the big screen. Registration is not necessary and the movies are free. Light refreshments are served. Bring a friend! The movies include:

Meditation for a Stress-Free Holiday

Join Dr. Alan Post, long time meditator, as he discusses the extraordinary effect of meditation. He will also present a simple, yet powerful meditation technique that can enrich one’s life personally, professionally, spiritually, and help with seasonal stress.

Need help creating our updating your resume? Attend this one-on-one workshop. Bring a written draft of your resume and a USB flash drive to save and/or print your resume.
