Rest assured, the SS Team is here to support you at each stage! *Required attendance for current Grade 10 families. For more details and to sign up, please click here to RSVP. Message from the Headmaster: As we head towards the final month of the school year, we are asking that everyone stays alert and drives safely near or around the school. There are a lot of students and adults around during both pick-up and drop-off. Please be respectful at all times. I know everyone is in a hurry but let’s take care of each other, remember we are all part of the same community.
Inter-House Chess Competition: Fifty-two Middle and Senior School students and staff recently participated in an Inter-House chess competition, which began after March Break and culminated in the semi-final on April 26 and the final on April 27. Each player earned points for their houses with each win, and each round was worth more points. Read more.
North of the Wild Winter Camping trip 2023: This winter our Grade 9 boys spent two days in the deep cold, at sub-zero temperatures, on their North of Wild Winter Camping trip 2023. The boys built Quinzhees (an Athabascan snow shelter), built fires, prepared their meals, explored the forests and learned how to care for themselves and their peers in the face of significant adversity. Annual Grade 10 Retreat - Building a foundation: Selwyn House School's Grade 10 students recently took part in a retreat at Parkside Ranch in Orford, Quebec. After a hike around Mount Saint-Bruno, they leaned in to leadership and introspective activities provided by the Selwyn staff. Read more.
Bread and Beyond: We loved having these Grade 11 students from @selwynhouseschool with us for a day last week. It was their second visit to us and they came back like old friends- bringing laughter and energy as they made sandwiches, delivered them to the shelter and then helped to pack Essentials Boxes. Thank you all so much for joining us- come back anytime!
Conflict resolution and diplomacy with Gwynne Dyer: Gwynne Dyer, renowned journalist, author, and international affairs expert, recently spoke to Grade 11 students from Selwyn House School and ECS about the ongoing conflict between Ukraine and Russia, NATO's role in the region, and broader geopolitical implications.
