Need to know
Elementary School Closings: And just like that, another year is done! At your leisure, feel free to relive the moments of Maternelle Graduation, Grades 1 to 5 Concert and Closing Assembly, and the Grade 6 Graduation.
Report Cards: Report cards are due to be sent home electronically during the week of July 4.
Team Trees: This week, the Grade 4 Team Trees boys planted a new tree on the Selwyn House grounds. This tree represents the culmination of their deforestation awareness project in Elementary School. With the help from the city of Westmount, who gifted us this tree, these students will get to watch this new tree grow throughout their time at Selwyn House and it will remind them of the work that they did and to continue spreading awareness and taking action in our community.
Continued Support of CACI (Support Centre for Immigrant Communities): Continuing the school wide initiative to raise awareness and funds, the Elementary School has raised $2217 through their student-initiated Grade 6 Party, the student-initiated Candy Jar Count and the PVA Family Bingo night.
Reading & Supply Lists 2022-23: It’s that time of year again, here are the reading lists and school supply lists for next year. Should you misplace your copy, the lists will remain posted on our website.
Babar Books & Summer Reading: If you would like to support a local business, please consider purchasing your Grade 3 to 8 English Summer Reading Requirement books online from Babar Books. Students/Parents can use SELWYN as the Promo Code for free shipping on orders placed between June 2 and 30.
Online School Supply Service: Once again this year, parents may purchase their son’s school supplies online through Service Scolaire Editions Vaudreuil Inc. Please note that if you choose to use this service, a percentage of the total sales will be donated to a local children’s charity.
Community Engagement ~ Summer Volunteer Opportunities: Summer is a great time to give back to your community. If you or your child are looking for volunteer opportunities in Montreal, please click here for a list of organizations that need your help.
Echoes of a Proud Nation Pow Wow in Kahnawake ~ July 9-10: Families and staff are encouraged to attend this summer’s Pow Wow in Kahnawake. As part of our commitment to learn more about Indigenous history and culture, this is a great opportunity to experience an event that is open to all! If you would like to join our SHS group, we will be meeting Wahiakatste Diome-Deer on Saturday, July 9 at noon to experience the Grand Entry together. Exact meeting location TBD. Please RSVP here if you are interested in joining us so we can communicate further details closer to the event.
