From the Counselors
September is Suicide Prevention Awareness Month.
One resource we want to make sure families and students are aware of is the Johnson County Mental Health Crisis Line. This is a 24/7 number that connects to a mental health professional right here in Johnson County. The crisis line will talk with the person whose safety may be at risk to assess the risk level as well as provide guidance on next steps, if necessary. See the link below for more information about what to expect when calling 911 or the JCMH Crisis Line in a mental health emergency.

Reporting an Absence
Please do not email the secretaries directly to ensure that your child's absence is reported. A secretary may be out and therefore would not receive the attendance reported.
Thank you

We Need Your Help!!!!!!
It is now 2021 and we need to do something again to remember that freedom is not free. My students and I have decided to create a book of remembrance.
It will be titled, “9-11 Remembrances”
My Students will work with me to print everyone’s stories and create a type of time capsule book of first-hand testimonials of what September 11, 2001 was like for people in our lives and around us.
Please share my email with people in your church, temple and synagogues. Share it with your families. Honestly share it with anyone you can because every story we get is another way to connect my current students to September 11th. Please ask them to email their personal story of September 11, 2001 to my school email. keilh@usd232.org
I need your help to connect my students to their past. None of my students grades 6 through 12 were alive 20 years ago.
Thank you so much for all your help.
