Buncee Updates
Share with Google Classroom:
Did you know that you can share your edu.buncee.com creations with your Google Classroom? In addition to Twitter, Facebook, Pinterest, Google+, LinkedIn, you can now share your buncee masterpiece to Google Classroom. Simply sign in to your account, create your buncee, click on "share", select the "social" option, and choose Google Classroom! If you are already logged into your Classroom account, you can immediately fill out the appropriate information and share to your class! If you aren't logged in, you will be required to do that before moving on! Then head on over to Google Classroom and check out your post!
Clip & Stitch Slides:
Buncee’s newest feature will allow you to “clip” one or more slides from a copyable Buncee. These clipped slides can then be “stitched” (added) into a Buncee of your own. (This process is very similar to copying and pasting slides from one presentation to another.) In other words, with this new feature, users can now take slides from an existing Buncee and integrate them into a new or previously made Buncee. For example, teachers can clip slides (copy) from their students’ Buncees and combine them (paste) to create one awesome Buncee of all their students’ work! Watch the video below to see this process being done!
Kahoot! Team Mode
Kaizena
You, the teacher, will create an account and your groups/classes. Your students will sign into Kaizena as a student and will receive a class code from you. You can give students in-class instruction on how to join your class, you can print off a .pdf with the instructions, you can invite students by their email addresses, AND you can add students from a class that has been created in Google Classroom!
Once you have students in your Kaizena account, then they can upload documents to you and you can give your feedback through voice comments and through typed comments. In the Kaizena environment, you can then have a conversation with your students.
Kaizena has a YouTube channel (see video below) available and now has an app for iOS!
Tag Cloud/Word Cloud Generator
If you would like a Tag Cloud/Word Cloud to use with a Google Doc, here is a simple way! Just open the document with your information already in it! Or create a new document and write your story, essay, or information first!
Now click on the Add-ons menu on the menu bar. You may need to click on Get Add-ons first and do a search for Tag Cloud or Word Cloud generator. Click the blue button to add it to Chrome. Now go back to the Add-ons menu and choose Tag Cloud/Word Cloud Generator (I've seen the same Add-on named both ways).
The Word Clouds can help you and your students analyze documents written by others as well as those of their own creation. Your students can quickly see the words that appear most frequently in that document. Word clouds can also be used to help students see which words they have frequently used in their own works.
When your students are working during the revision process of writing a story or essay, have them create a word cloud. This will quickly show the students which words they have used the most. They might want to consider some synonyms for those words!
WatchKin
You can either enter the URL of the video directly into WatchKin OR you can do a YouTube search within the WatchKin window! The results that are displayed will be "family-friendly". If the result is not, WatchKin has a mechanism for flagging it as inappropriate. Choose your video and begin watching! Without all the distractions!
