Message from the Principal
We hope you all enjoyed Thanksgiving and had many opportunities to enjoy family. During this season it is easy to get caught up in the hustle and bustle, but we will continue to stress to your sons and daughters that they should enjoy the season and their family while using the organizational and work ethic tools they are developing to deal with the academic portion of their lives.
I am thankful for the number of parents who are daily checking agendas and regularly checking grades on Power School. Please continue to communicate with your child’s teachers and ask your child probing questions about what their daily learning targets are. It has often been said that you best learn something when you are explaining it to someone else. The reason is because we have to make all the connections there are to make in order to be able to explain to someone else. This regular exercise will help cement concepts with your son or daughter and allow for good academic communication. Again, we are very thankful for your active participation in the daily academic lives of your children!
We are only two and a half weeks away from Christmas break and time is moving quickly. We have had classroom spelling bees occurring. The winners from each classroom will participate in a school-wide spelling bee on December 20th. We are looking forward to having an exciting bee with some other surprises mixed in that will serve as a good wrap-up before break.
We are very excited to have 6A home from camp this week and to have 6B and 6C heading to camp tomorrow morning. The first week of camp was excellent and we are hoping for just as awesome second week!
Have a great week!
Sincerely,
Tim Holcombe
Congratulations Braedan!
Braedan Henegar, a 6th grader at Eisenhower, designed a cleat to raise awareness about Duschenne, a form of muscular dystrophy.
Braedan's camouflage design was chosen and Clay Matthews, Jr. of the Green Bay Packers wore it this weekend! Below is a link go the video of Clay talking about it.
Congratulations, Braedan!
