Manning Weekly Update
August 11, 2020
OUR VISION
PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE
Manning Community,
I wanted to start my first newsletter with a sincere thank you to our community. I can't even begin to tell you how grateful I am for this chance to lead Manning and welcome your student back to the 2020-2021 school year! Yes, it will look different from last fall, but that won't stop us from fulfilling our commitment to provide an excellent middle school experience for your child! This newsletter is just an introduction, including a few tenets that I propose we uphold as a community. We will be sending out scheduling and orientation information, new staff bios, and further restart information in our August 17th newsletter. We will then follow up with our second town hall meeting of the year on Tuesday, August 18th from 8:00 a.m.-9:00 a.m. and then again at 5:00 p.m.-6:00 p.m. The Zoom invites for these two town hall meetings will be included in our August 17th newsletter.

A few tenets to uphold as a community: When the Manning staff says the word "community", we mean all of us! It will take the collaborative and innovative nature of our staff, students, and families to continue the great work of Manning during this unprecedented time. We will continue to presume positive intentions and give each other grace. If you have a question, ask it! I learned some years ago that communities thrive on innovation, and the only way you can innovate is to ask questions! We will continue to seek clarity and find workable solutions, solutions that put our kids at the center of all our decisions. This is called a "kids first philosophy!" We can assure you that prior to making important decisions, we will ask, "how will this decision impact our students?" With this in mind, please know that safety comes first, followed by upholding the important tenets and aspects of instruction and programming that makes Manning, Manning!
Parent Preference Survey Data: To keep you up to date, we have been working hard to collaborate on a schedule and structure a school environment that will keep your student as safe and engaged as possible. To bring you up to date with our remote/hybrid preference survey,15% of our families have chosen the remote option while the remaining 85% of our families have chosen our hybrid model. No matter the learning format, please be confident that each and every Manning student will have an incredible learning experience! Please know that my hopes and dreams for our community transcends our current pandemic and the unusual circumstances we have found ourselves in these days. I can assure you that the Manning staff has been working hard to tackle the many challenges ahead of us and we are committed to give our students the best year they've experienced in K-12 education to this point!
Please know that my door is always open. If you have any questions or concerns I can be reached at Christian.Ramaker@jeffco.k12.co.us or (303) 982-0489. I look forward to a great school year and the day we can meet in person without masks!
Best,
Christian Ramaker, Principal
