Spring Cleaning
During this time of year, many of us start 'Spring Cleaning' in our houses. We look at the things we've collected over the years, discard what we have not used or won't use, and rearrange our items to remind us of what we should be focused on. We organize some rooms for efficiency and to bring Joy. We also dust and clean off items so they shine.
This practice is also implemented in our classrooms and campus. During this time, we need to reflect on our practices, hone in on essential and critical moments of instruction, and take out unnecessary distractions (time wasters) so we can fully prepare students for what is to come.
When we remove the components of our practice that are not aligned with our end goal, it is like dropping the heavy baggage we carry. Without the heavy baggage we carry, we can move faster and stronger towards our goal.
What does Spring Cleaning look like in your classroom?
