Lots Going On...
All parents are welcome to attend the Spelling and Geography Bees this week, but we do ask you to please sign in at the office first. Thank you.
Reminder: Enstar is generously sponsoring a school-wide pizza party this Thursday. There will not be a school "hot lunch" option that day besides pizza. If you would like your child to eat something other than the pizza party, send your child with a sack lunch on December 12th (unless you notified the school to request a sack lunch prior to November 27th).
PTO's Box Tops Store is this Wednesday, please send your kids with those box tops so they can "buy" cool new-to-them items. Also, if you have any small items you would like to donate, please bring to the office by Wednesday's start of school so we can include them. Thank you!
Have you submitted your volunteer application so you can join in on class parties or attend field trips? If not, please do so at www.kpbsd.k12.ak.us and click on volunteers. If you have difficulty accessing the internet, you are welcome to come to the Kasilof Public Library (in our school) during their hours Monday-Friday 2-5pm and use the computers in there. We would love to have you join in on classroom activities, but this is a district requirement before you can participate. You are welcome to call the school at 260-1345 anytime to make sure you're "on the list".
All library books are due back to the library by THIS FRIDAY.
Dress Code Reminder: No tank top or sleeveless shirts or dresses should be worn unless a sweater or covering is worn with it. No open-toe shoes or sandals. Shorts may be worn before October 1st and after May 1st, but not between October 1st and May 1st. It is suggested that girls wearing dresses or skirts have tights or pants underneath. There are several reasons for these expectations, one of which is the weather outside. While students wear warm gear during recess, there are often fire drills, or may be actual emergencies, in which there is not time to “prepare” with warm gear, therefore, appropriate attire is needed at all times.
Winter Program Information: Next Thursday, December 19th, at 6pm is our Winter Music Program. Please have students in their classrooms by 5:45pm. We would encourage students to wear their best available attire for this event. Students have been working hard for weeks to prepare for this and we are looking forward to sharing that with you all.
