Where Learning Takes Flight
A Note from Mrs. Tallent
Mr. Griffin and I had a great time getting slimed yesterday! We can not thank you enough for helping us raise $40,567 for interactive smart boards! In our wrap up meeting with Boosterthon, they shared that we have an additional $8,500 in eligible corporate matching gifts that could still be collected. As soon as they share the information with me, I will send an email to those individuals to make sure they have the information they need to get their corporate match. We could order two additional smart boards if all those corporate matches come in! Please make sure you tell your family and friends THANK YOU! Non-Parent Donors made up 61% of the money we were able to raise. Mr. Griffin and I couldn't be more proud to be a part of this amazing community!

What is Watch D.O.G.S.?
WATCH D.O.G.S. is one of the nation’s largest and most respected school-based, family, and community engagement organizations in the country. Since the program’s creation in 1998, more than 6,800 schools across the country have launched a WATCH D.O.G.S. program of their own. Each school year hundreds of thousands of fathers and father-figures make a positive impact on millions of children by volunteering millions of hours in their local schools through this amazing one-of-a-kind program. Who are WatchDOGS? Fathers, grandfathers, step-fathers, uncles, and other father figures who volunteer to serve at least one day a year in a variety of school activities as assigned by the school principal or other administrator.

Come Join Student Health Advisory Committee
Are you a parent of a current Humble ISD student? Are you interested in student health and wellness programming?
Humble ISD has 3 open parent positions on the Humble ISD SHAC.
SHAC is an advisory committee that provides guidance, recommendations and assistance to the Board of Trustees on a variety of issues relating to student health and wellness. SHAC meets at least 4 times a year. Membership is comprised of parents, community members, and district representatives who work with students and public health officials on promoting school health on topics ranging from nutrition to fitness to substance abuse prevention. Serving on this council provides an opportunity for all members to gain a greater understanding, awareness, and appreciation for current and prospective health and wellness programming throughout the district. To be eligible for one of the open parent spots on SHAC, you need to be the parent of a currently enrolled Humble ISD student and cannot be a current District employee.
If you would like to join SHAC, please email SHAC Facilitator Helen Wagner at Helen.Wagner@humbleisd.net.

Kid's Choice Day
Pajama Day? Crazy Hair Day? Or Hat Day?
Any grade that reaches 80% or above in paid celebration fees by Friday, October 1 will earn a Kid’s Choice Day! Each winning grade will vote to decide how they will celebrate.
Paid celebration fees also get you a free FCE water bottle if paid by October 1st!
NOTE: If your child has switched teachers since school began, please return to https://fcpto.com/ to update your child’s teacher (instructions posted below). Stay tuned for percentage updates and the announcement of winning grades.
Payment of both your child's activity and celebration fees will ensure we have the proper funds for your child's field trip and class parties scheduled later this school-year.
What is the difference between the school's Activity Fee vs. Celebration Fee?
The Activity Fee covers the cost of your child’s class field trip: https://humbleisd.revtrak.net/.
The Celebration Fee covers the cost of supplies for our Winter, Friendship, and Spring (Kinder Only) Parties. Scan the QR Code or visit: https://fcpto.com/.
