What are We Learning Now & Next Week?
Science - After completing food webs and demonstrating an understanding of the relationship between predators and prey, students had a solid foundation for the current unit. We are learning about the structures and functions that different organisms rely on for survival. Adaptations such as camouflage are especially important.
Reading- The reading focus has been on understanding theme. An emphasis has been placed on noticing the relationship between the plot and theme. Character changes and lessons learned by characters are also quite helpful when it comes to identifying the life lesson (theme) of a story.
Writing- In writing, students have been practicing revisions. They will soon be practicing writing strong literary essays.
